Paladin

A Few Questions.

Hellos! I've recently made a UA Paladin (I know, I sort of cheated with Soul Driver), and I had a few questions about this class, as I'm pretty clueless to how to properly play a Paladin. First, how do the stacked charges work? And how does holy charge interact/stack with the ones you receive in 3rd job? And second, I'm currently using a 2h Stonetooth and missing out on some of the benefits of a shield, but does that matter too much in the long run? Lastly, do UA Paladins receive hyper skills?

Thanks!

Oh, and I'm currently at the level where I need skillbooks >.< If anyone has Blast 30 in Scania, I'd love to buy it off you

Firstly, here are some of the charge combinations:
Lightning + Fire
Lightning + Ice
Lightning + Holy

Lightning can be charged with any, dealing extra damage(and trust me, you'll need the extra damage). Holy(along with Fire and Ice) are ONLY ABLE TO CHARGE WITH LIGHTNING.

Secondly, Shields are VERY important to a Paladin. As a Paladin, you revive a skill called Guardian. At level 30, it gives you a 40% chance to block(along with another extra 20% from White Knight's Shield Mastery). This skill is AMAZING at SH and HoH. So a shield should be recommended.

Finally, like all Explorers, you get all the Hypers as well! Have fun!

BTW: Sorry, I don't have Blast 30

I found this class to be really fun, but rather weak compared to other warriors. I'm at level 125 and still only hitting 80-150ks with blast >.< Is this normal, or did I forget to add/use something? (Wouldn't be the first time )[/quote]

I'd say pallies aren't too worse for wear with respect to damage (1v1 at least)
blast's multipliers don't look that great but it does give 52% crit chance and 31% def ignored which stacks with threaten's 30% def ignored (50% with hyper skill)

also the main draw of pallies is never dying, so they've got to have some concessions elsewhere to balance that

Nope.
That is a Paladins life.
You need almost 3 times more fundings to deal the same damage as a Hero for example.

If you're going to main your paladin... prepare to get stuck around a 40/50k range.
Not many people get past that and stay fairly weak for the fundings they've put into it.

EDIT: Yes, you do actually. Blast 30!

I'm pretty sure all paladins will receive hyper skills. Pallies are stronger than drks at 1vs1. Just make sure to have 2 charges on and divine shield not procing might also affect your damage.

lightning charge stacks with any single other charge.
if you attack an enemy strong/weak to an element while you have two active the multiplier(s) will be 0.75/1.25 instead of 0.5/1.5.

if you don't have a shield you lose out of the defensive benefits of shield mastery (3rd job) and guardian (4th job), but you can probably still get by if you have enough str to cap w.def without shield mastery, plus divine shield is a better defensive skill than either of the shield-requiring ones
I assume UA's get hyper skills cause it'd be pretty ridiculous if they didn't.

I didn't have any trouble finding books, even in bellocan they're cheap and not too rare (most expensive non-mw was stance 30 at 10m)

Lightning charge is the only one that stacks, so you can have a combination of Lightning + (any)
Holy + Lightning deals the most damage to neutral mobs (110% damage boost)

You will want a shield later on, since you miss out on shield mastery and guardian's effects. Divine shield still procs with a 2H weapon
