Aran

Is aran worth it to make

Just wondering if aran is worth making. For equips I would be using 3 EVO rings, legend ring, 20 att earring, legend maple polearm (btw if someone has a better polearm in bera let me know) or what is a decent cheap one I could use, 15 atk wg, czak, other random equips. I also will probably get some cheap %str shoes and belt. I know arans mobility isnt that good, all they have is combat step. But how is there mobbing and single target ability? With sudden strike you can spam the spin attack I think? Is that good?

Thanks for your input. Please dont suggest kaiser lol.

I suggest you get a mount since Arans cannot jump. Everything will be like a JPQ without a good mount. I have a flying mount on my Aran.

I enjoyed my Aran when I played it. It's damage in terms of high numbers was higher then other classes. They are powerful and I regret never getting the skill books from zakum to see an Aran full potential. I had trouble finding mastery books for my Aran (level 140) but I still had a lot of fun getting to there and was plenty powerful for only having high mastery at level 10 and no FB high def, or Combo barrier. I'm at the point where I'm not leveling my demon slayer anymore and am thinking of transferring my equips to play around on my Aran again, it's worth it give it a shot

I don't know why people keep hating on Arans and saying they're bad when they're actually really good. Sure we don't have status resist and the greatest mobility but our damage is really high, if you're hitting cap (which is much easier on an Aran with that free 20% boss, 40%PDR and a bunch of atk buffs/passives) you can do around 16m~ damage with each full combo (not including Final Attack procs). When the Unlimited update comes and the cap is increased we'll be much better but it would be nice to get some status resist so we'd be better when soloing the tougher bosses.
Also arans have one of the most friendliest communitys ever, if you see a fellow aran around, you're in for a nice conversation/good training.
So have buccs! That's why I made both.
I tried many classes and came to an conclusion that Aran is one of the most special jobs you can play on Maplestory. I mean, those new charge thingys on lumi/kaiser and angelic buster are fun but not special. The combo count & key combinations on an Aran are.

I believe that Aran's are a fundamentally good class. They have an hp drain, multiple attack buffs, plus the combo attacks are pretty strong, not to mention their OP range for a warrior. and their mount is cheap! 10M for the first one, and I believe all the rest are free =D

I would say make a kaiser but those are boring. I would say arans are really not that great but at least they are fun to play! It's the only account and will probably be the only account I ever fund.

Arans are quite well rounded in my opinion, but they definitely lack in a lot of places.
Like others have mentioned, we're a very good class if you're unfunded, you can pack quite a punch with not many equips. And now thanks to Beyond Blade, our final DPM, once we hit max damage, is no longer complete trash.
Our survivability and mobility could definitely be better; combat step doesn't quite cut it compared to all the classes that have flash jump nowadays. Not to mention we have no status resistance outside of Willpower, and our HP is quite low compared to other warriors. We're also the only warrior with no crash or bind skill...
Soooo... It's really up to you. We have a really unique and fun play-style, but we have our downsides. However, do take into consideration that these downsides only become significant at the higher-end bosses such as PB, Empress, Magnus, etc.

Often when my friends ask me to Empress or Magnus with them, they ask me if I can bring my Demon Slayer instead. His Bind is preferred over my Aran's damage, for obvious reasons I suppose. Aran also has trouble with DR, since we can't stop our OS+FB+BB combo half way, if a boss casts DR while you're in the middle of the combo, there's nothing you can do. With Demon Slayer, and pretty much every other class, the chance of accidentally activating DR is much lower because they can quickly stop their attacks.
This is especially obnoxious in Empress, since if you hit her during DR, you'll kill off your party. </3

Arans are strong as hell. I hit 150k per line with FB. I'm not wearing any equips and using a beginner polearm at 168. They're worth it if you're not super funded <3

Definitely a great class for low funding... Hitting 90k on each line of triple swing (70k with FB) after I've been hacked using a clean PSB and untradeable %str equips... Can't wait to see what im hitting when I am funded again.

Nice I just recently came back so good to have a good community. So anyone in bera have a decent polearm or %str gears. I have a
Dkhanjar and 18% int with matk earings, and 9% int lvl 108 robe to trade.

I agree with @hiboom. Arans do have one of the best communities, and are excellent for low funding. Everybody who is an Aran is generally nice...unless that Mark24 guy comes in and spouts a bunch of stuff...

Arans are worth making if you enjoy the playing style of the class. It is unique and keeps your fingers active (so training or bossing won't be too dull). Arans are very well balanced and are a great beginner class. They are pretty much decent at just about every aspect of the game. They don't have the best dps, defense, but they aren't the worst (at least atm). What they do excel at is saving you tons of hp pots, having the best drain skill in the game (no it's not arguable) hence why they are a great beginner class. You don't have to worry about saving mesos for pots and they can deal rather high numbers with low fundings so people won't pick on you as much as if you make a phantom or mercedes unfunded. However, they aren't bad for later in the game either, with beyonder blade and combo tempest spam combination, they are a force to be reckon with.
