How can I increase My FPS?

I would appreciate any ways to increase my computers frames per second because when I play vindictus it is super laggy xD. If you could tell me any ways to make it less laggy (other than increasing mp FPS) I would greatly appreciate it. Also please leave a step by step instructions, Thanks

The last sentence of what Qwan just said is probably the most important concerning video (graphics) cards.

If you have a laptop, it probably CAN'T be upgraded.

Your GPU (graphic processing unit - your graphic card) will generally determine how well you will play a game assuming that there isn't any bottlenecks in your system (bottleneck happens when a particular component is holding back the true performance of another). In this case, a better GPU will net you higher FPS rate.

As for where to buy one, you can buy one hardware sites like Newegg.com. What you should get will be determine by whether or not your computer has the correct interface to support your GPU (AGP or PCIe) , will the PSU (power supply) have enough power to power it along with your system (wattage and amperage on the +12v rail), and will it fit in your cases.

To make it easier for you, can you provide us with the Brand and Model of your computer, so somebody else here can assist you with choosing an appropriate card for you? Btw, this is assuming that you are on a desktop. If it's a laptop, then most likely you won't be able to upgrade it.

Well this is pretty basic but it helped me on my old pc. Turn your color quality to 16bit. Helps some but the quality will be lower.

@Readers I did what you said and downloaded the game booster, but what does the graphics card do, and where can I Purchase a new one?

Get a better graphics card.

And/or get a better CPU. (With all that, it usually means get a better computer.)

There are programs like Game Booster that shut down background processes and do other things to try to boost your computer performance when playing video games on it. Do a virus scan for any viruses that might hog your computer. The former method may work a great deal depending on your computer itself, the latter is a possibility. They probably may not be a substantial performance boost, which is why I refer you to the first and second sentences of this post.

Put all the settings to lowest possible.
Close all background applications
Upgrade hardware
Upgrade ISP (if you're lagging due to latency)
