Practical vs. Fun

Hey guys,

Quick question for the community...

I started over and have three character slots to make use of. I used one to prepare for the amazing Thunder breaker revamp and one for a Mercedes link skill. With my leftover slot, I am having trouble picking between an Evan for its character card or a Shadower, which I've always wanted to try out since '04, 'cause they look mad fun.

My question to you is, just how useful would the Evan character card be if I'm already using a Jr.Boogie familiar? Would you recommend I make an Evan just for the character card? I'm dirt poor and try to avoid spending mesos whenever possible.

I would suggest if your starting fresh stick to the new classes that got released recently.Them being a little over powered will help you get through the levels. Now if your aiming for fun thats all up to what you find fun. Ive found the pirate class entirely fun also bishops and palis.

@TinyH: That's also true. <3

I'll give this one a shot! worst case scenario, I just have to wait for a slot expansion and make my Evan then.

But Evans are seriously hard to train in my opinion.
Evans are seriously not hard to train at all. And I would know, I'm an Evan.
You see this thing? This guy got to 120 BEFORE Big Bang. You know that stuff was hard to do. Or at least it took a while.

Evans have an amazing variety of skills that keep them fresh and are very good mobbers. So actually, it's easy leveling.
(Just note, they need some NX for skill books)

@Capricious: I never paid attention to how much mesos MG used, but that seems like a good idea, go for it

KoC revamp won't be out for months. Have fun waiting months on end and letting that character slot you used to make a tb continue to be wasted.

@ilikefoodand and @iDivideZer0: Yeah, I just realized that Meso Guard would make me cry. I'm not in it for the damage, so I don't mind... but just being crippled money-wise is really depressing, ha-ha.

I guess I'll just make the Evan and try to build up some wealth before attempt making a Shadower. Besides, hopefully we'll get an expansion slot in the near future. <3

Luminous just to gather Tempest Coins and to help run off people who want to KS you in popular areas.

Shadower wouldn't be a great choice if you're looking for damage. If you don't care about that then go ahead, since you said that you really wanted to try them out.

Shads aren't good if you don't have mesos for meso shield.

Kaiser or lumi since they are easy to train.
