Indeed, it'd bring on the nostalgia... but most people will not think much of the idea.

I think we need to question what actually made the game fun. The leveling and talking with friends was possible despite the pain and suffering it took to get to lvl 30~40, was because of our "innocence."
As I remember, there were cool stuff we experienced firsthand (such as the barlog and slime tree) but what about afterwards?
I can train at slime tree, but it'd take super long and feel like such arduous work is for nothing.
I can go take the barlog ship (which we still can do) and hide from barlogs, but after experiencing it once, it'd be a regular thing.

The only thing that we find pleasure in going back to the "old ms" is the discovery/exploration of content with friends and that has now disappeared for most of us.
Hence is the reason why we don't see very much Pizza servers that adhere to your idea.

Ecko never put anything. Ecko is a fake h@cker that rose to fame for "hacking a GM" when in reality the GM's info was posted by mistake on the main site. He was one of the few people that found out the things on the site were actually the account details so he got in. Look at his videos, he's only a guy who uses public h@cks and luckily managed to get a GMs account.

The DC in sauna thing was actually a glitch. I got stuck in it on one of my characters back then and felt so bad.

I can't make new ones because I don't play but what I'm saying is the community HAS changed. Yes they spend money but probably not every month for 5-6 years people can spend their money obviously, It's just NX used to be for cosmetic approach, now if you don't have or use NX you're probably weak, and can't match up with players who spend loads on cubes and all different gear

Some things I do like better, but a lot I don't

To be honest, i play this game since 2006. I quit in 2008, because it was boring. Around the summer i saw some maplestory video's, and saw that there was a lot of new stuff, that's the reason i came back. If it was still the same as then, i wouldnt came back lol

the only reason "old maple" seems better to us verterans is because a good majority of our friends were 100x more active back then and the community was better too. They've all grown up now and moved onto bigger and better things. Making an "old" maplestory client won't fix the real problem which is the community. If anything it will make the community worse because the new community will most likely hate the fact that you had to train weeks for lvl 30.

to me, nothing that made the game fun back then is still here.. slime tree is gone, along with the mushroom tree, most of the maps have changed so not even the same layout, the community is different, no one just makes friends while training much anymore, exp is different, weapons are different, and everyone is just obsessed with damage and gear, back then there were no cubes, all these different scrolls and potential and things, and all of that just makes it too intense for me, I know people do all this without money, but it takes longer, and I know people have a job and can afford it as can I, but when you pay like 30 dollars a month or whatever you pay, think how much you would of paid in 5 years!
