Hi all!

I've taken the liberty of posting a Bug Report thread on the Maplestory forums about the fail-state glitch that Hard Magnus has as well as the 2 obscure requirements that must be met in order for him to drop Tyrant Cloaks or Magnus Coins. If you care about having these issues fixed please leave a comment on the thread linked below with your own experience with Hard Magnus, and hopefully if enough people support the thread Nexon will take notice and work towards fixing these issues!

The 3 person and 15min limit are nto bugs, those are put there intentionally. Your post has no place in the bug section if it is addressing those issues. All the more so since each post is supposed to be about 1 bug/glitch, not several.

Repost in the suggestion forum or they won't even look at it. The only bug you are reporting is him glitching into his anti-hack state

@litaozhao: For one, Magnus isn't the first boss to have this mechanic. CHT used to require 3(or maybe 6) people, and have to wait 30 min, to get drops. And when that was changed, they addressed it in update notes, not in bug fixes which means it was intentional to have those mechanics in there. Empress has a party requirement to get shoudlers, does she not? Again, seeing as how CHT had intentional requirements on it, it makes sense that Magnus would have intentional requirements on it to prevent hackers soloing it in 1 min and getting capes.

These mechanics are always implemented in Maplestory with endgame equips specifically to prevent hackers from abusing the bosses and flooding the market with equips. Its relatively easy to hack and kill the boss in seconds, but if there are server side restrictions on the drops it won't help you. It also isn't listed in the known bug section despite being a mechanic of the game since he was released. It isn't accidental. Just because its an inconvenience doesn't mean anything

Empress has never dropped shoulders with or without a party, and using the 15 minutes as a hacker deterrent is quite outdated as it's now very easy for someone who does max damage to finish hard magnus within 5 minutes. In the past it was literally impossible to kill him faster than 15 minutes as the damage cap was only 1mil, and so anyone who could do so faster was obviously hacking, that is certainly no longer the case. There are plenty of bugs or issues in the game that have not been addressed on the known bug section before so using that as a source isn't very credible. It's called the "Known Bugs" section for a reason, there are unknown bugs too. The point of the thread is more to address the glitch rather than these outdated and cumbersome hacker deterrents (that frankly aren't very effective even as such, all the hacker has to do is wait 15 minutes and bring 2 mules like the rest of us) but I decided to highlight them all the same so hopefully nexon considers removing them as they removed the CHT requirement.

Also, the glitched state is not meant to be an "anti-hacker" state, what happens in the glitched state is identical to what happens when you run out of lives in hard magnus. He's glitching into a state where the game believes you have lost all your lives, it's not trying to prevent you from hacking it, it thinks you failed the fight so it's ending your run.

well, seeing as how nexon removed the cht drop requirements, it wouldn't be too surprising to see nexon remove the magnus requirements as well. i'd say the main problem is the plethora of falling rocks, and although the 30 min entry requirement is annoying, it's not as important.

I don't know how people can try and justify these restrictions cause it was never an issue for KMS, they don't have these dumb methods that they have to follow just to get drops

Nowhere in my thread did I refer to either of the drop requirements as a bug. I simply illustrated how they made the boss more frustrating in lieu of the fail-state glitch and suggested they consider revising those. The thread quite explicitly details an "actual bug," being the glitch, and it is the only "bug" in the thread, meeting the one per thread maximum that you are so adamant about. I see no reason for you to be so opposed to my portrayal of the issues that Hard Magnus poses but if you believe yourself capable of doing so in a better way that I invite you to make your own thread on the matter. The more the merrier, as they say.

@Underwolf I believe the steps include having party members revive within 1-2 minutes of their death and making sure that not all members of the party are dead at the same time. They are quite well known measures and I employ them on every run, despite this magnus still glitches every other run or so and does the same for many others that I know. I listed these "methods" in the thread as well and explained how they were by no means a fool proof way to prevent the glitch. A "simple google search" might get you to these methods that everyone is already aware of but as they do not always work it certainly would not solve these problems.
