It's based on a popular Drake song called "The Motto." It's basically the way that dumb teenagers justify their actions, such as having a house party behind their parents backs. This makes the unpopular kids really butthurt about the term since "they rlly r much more mature than their peers" but in reality it's a harmless, fun way to express it. Yeah, nobody over the age of 16 should ever use it with a plain face but regardless, it's just a way to shoot the crap while you do dumb things.

I had used "The Motto" by Tyga (I think) for a research paper and I think someone told me that's where it came from. It wasn't a bad song, although I heard YODO more often than YOLO.
