modern art is stupid
i bet modern artist just put a bunch of triangles and squares together and splash pain on a canvas than right about it has to do with their abusive childhood and watch hipsters feel bad for them and saying they feel a 'connection' with the artist while the artist laughs and rolls around in the hipster's money

People have difference preferences
Modern art is how the audience interprets the piece, just cause you don't understand the possible themes behind it doesn't mean it isn't good.
Art can be pure chaos where there is no underlying theme and can just evoke the emotions of the artist. My high school art teacher had pieces he's worked on for several years, then he had kids and he let them draw all over it. It was amazing before but then after he started letting his kids scribble on it, it was just chaos.
Just because a certain piece doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it's dumb
Just because someone can't understand Shakespearean plays doesn't mean it's stupid

How old are you? If you're old like me, I can relate to certain types of "contemporary" subjects that I find unappealing.
Something like [url=http://www.bestdesigntuts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/112.jpg]this[/url]; however, makes me believe that the artist was on drugs.
sometimes i wish you would get over the whole flameboaiting thing
but i also treat "modern art" as anything being created currently, and it's so varied and awesome
