Help With Microsoft Word? Thanks

I'm having trouble opening my documents I put on Microsoft Word. To begin, my laptop came with Microsoft Word Starter 2010 and later some idiot downloaded Microsoft Trial onto my laptop. Of course, the trial ended so I uninstalled it. When I uninstalled it, I couldn't open any of my word documents. I tried opening my documents using "open with" and the Microsoft Word Starter but it just gives me a pop-up window saying "Click-2-Run configuration failure." So, any suggestions on what to do Basil? Any help would be appreciated.
