Ship first or Cannon first?

Everyone trains differently but I need you guys' help on which build would be the best bet.
So I'm currently thinking about Pap daily for EXP, and train. But I'm not sure on wheather I should max Ship first or Cannon first.
If I max ship first, that means I'll have to use Lv. 1 cannon to face Pap, however, if cannon first, my ship would break too often during the run and make me have to use RF against the bosses.

So what do you think? Ship or Cannon? Also, can anyone provide a link/proof saying that Ship's CD time will be removed after R. Patch.

Heres my conclusion:

After you get 1 torp and 1 cannon, max ship.
Because you can't use cannon nor torp if you're not on the ship. Even if you have max cannon if ship breaks too often, its still not useful.
And ship only requires 10 SP, which can be max at lv123, lv124. And from lv119-125 the EXP required to lvl is the same so its not that hard to level.
Plus, I just solo'd 2 Pap today with lv1 cannon, it worked out great.
Good question,I'll have to think about it too.
And it's verified that in 6months when we get chaos patch, ship will have no cooldown.
Look in Spadow's blog.
Actually, no, it happens even BEFORE Chaos. Chaos isn't out in KMS, but the reorganization patch with no cooldown for battleship came out a while ago, so we'll have it... fairly soon. I'll give it 3 months?

I personally maxed ship first, because of the extra durability, the 700 added defense (im kinda poor right now, so this helps me save a few pots), 20 weapon attack, and 30 second cooldown. I plan to max pirates revenge (because its only 10 sp and adds 15% damage) next, i'll then max cannon.
