Nightlord

Im thinking about making a Night Lord

What are some things I need to know?
Like, what should I aim for for a decent claw towards 120+?
What is more important, Attack or Luck?
If it helps I already have 46% luck and a 9% luck helm that I can transfer to him if luck is a big factor.
And 80 attack. Not including stars or claws. Also, what stars should I get? Is it still possible to make the unlimited star thing? I think its in the Smithing job. If someone knows the name of it can the comment on that? What kind of material would I need to make it?

Also, what should I expect from this class? I have a db and a shad and love them. I also love my BM. So, I know I'd like a ranged class.
Also, I'd like to stay away from empress gear if I can. I don't really have the money for it yet. I'm thinking about merching.
Sorry to thread jack a tad but how much would a 12x Claw cost? And what pot should I aim for?
The Nl community is amazing! You guys rock. Keep it up!
I bought a *110 atk emp claw from a certain someone who sells perfected weapons in fms 1-6 for max mesos. Then I hammered it and bought gm claw service from the same guy for 250m/scroll. Everyone should aim for % boss.

You can probably get a 90 atk claw with that with no special pot on it.

I really like NLs the way they are now I hope they dont change too much when they do.

Would anyone know what kind of claw I can get for 500m? I really need more mesos lol

They're a really good class, just put some funding into it, and you'll be good to go. Good luck sir~

@Hirrho: Well, 12xatt claw in SCA, 2.5bill+

Aim for what it suits you best. If you boss alot get something like 60%Boss damage +25%Boss neb (could be over 4bill) but if you're looking for decent claw stats for training and bossing, 30%PDR+%boss.

@nathan724: FYI, Claws are the second highest at 1.75x. Cannons are the highest at 1.8x just to let you know.

@envenomed: Finally. Someone that actually knows that NL's have the worst survivability out of all Thieves excluding the soon to be revamped NW. There's a lot of misinformed people on Basil.

1) For levels 1-100, claw attack doesn't really matter yet. Unless you're a damage ho. As long as you have your generic attack stuff (WGs, capes, etc.) and keep up with the claw you use as you level, you're good,

2) I'm only lv137 and I have total of about 200 att from my equips and I mastered claw expert + Lv10 dark harmony and about 5% Luck. I see other new (Lv100~140) NLs running around hitting higher numbers than me despite them having lower ATT but way more %LUK. If you're on a limited budget, get %LUK over ATT equips. ATT equips are waaay too expensive. Don't do what I did...

3) Yes, any %LUK will help tons! Just upgrade slowly and progressively. Also, don't burn your cash on good stars (CIlbis, Furies, Flame) just get about 10 sets of whatever fits your wallet that isn't too weak (subis). I'm in this horrible situation where I have the good stars but I can't afford much of the other good stuff.
4) It is a ranged class that's fun with all the jumping around and stars flying all over. Do note that NLs are squishy and don't expect high numbers. In fact, don't even try to compete against other classes...you'll be very disappointed. Most of our stuff are pretty expensive compared to others. Our 1v1 isn't anything spectacular and mobbing is HORRIBLE. If you really want to be a really powerful NL, prepare to shell out tons of mesos...if you don't care much about damage, then no need to worry about that.

5) I'm going to try and get empress soon. I suggest you do too. The set effect is pretty expensive to replace with non-empress equips.
------------

Make a guy character most of the %LUK top and bottoms are for males only.

Also, you're talking about the infinite throwing knives. They're not really infinite...they hold 2000 knives per slot which is a lot

@YamenNayo: What are some things I need to know?
-IMO, NL's are the most fun class I've ever played (I have a DB, Phantom and a dit. But my NL is my favorite).
-At higher levels don't expect having that much HP or defense.
-At the moment I think certain books are hard to find.

Like, what should I aim for for a decent claw towards 120+?
-Depends on your budget, but for average funded NL's 11x att - 12xatt claws are the way to go. Price range, 1.5-2.5bill.

What is more important, Attack or Luck?
-Both are important on any class, just get as much of both parts.

If it helps I already have 46% luck and a 9% luck helm that I can transfer to him if luck is a big factor.
-LUK is the main stats of a NL (it's a thief too).

And 80 attack. Not including stars or claws. Also, what stars should I get? Is it still possible to make the unlimited star thing? I think its in the Smithing job. If someone knows the name of it can the comment on that? What kind of material would I need to make it?
-That;s nice, 80att as a starting boost! For stars if you're looking for cheap nice stars, Ilbis are the way to go. Price range 1mill-4mill (Stock up 10 sets) a second option could be crystal ilbis or balanced furys, in SCA I can't even find them in the market and you can't craft them anymore.

-For the new stars:
Flame Throwing Stars: Here
Infinite Throwing Knifes: Here

Also, what should I expect from this class? I have a db and a shad and love them. I also love my BM. So, I know I'd like a ranged class.
-NL's have lower survivability than Shads, DB's and Phantoms, but they're fun.

Also, I'd like to stay away from empress gear if I can. I don't really have the money for it yet. I'm thinking about merching.
-If you don't want to go Empress then, top/bottom is the way to go.

as others said.. get a good claw first. i got a 126atk claw with like ~10%atk and overall less than 50%luk with a range landing at 47k w/o buffs

Well, you will be weaker specialy with low funds
But with the hyper skills coming out - maybe not so much

I havent heard anything of an infinte star

With like 1.5k luk i think att will be more important for you
