Illegal as in against the ToS; yes.
You [i]can[/i] get banned from it, since it's against the ToS. You can also get banned for verbally attacking people, or KSing, or scamming, and plenty of other things that happen often.

Yes it is against the TOS and everything against the TOS is bannable. The question is will GMs actually give a damn to ban you for that? Probably not since it is too much of a hassle for them to go around seeing if people are selling nx to others. More important things such as banning hackers and things like that over ride simple rules that go against the TOS. That being said do it at your own risk. If you get banned you know why.
