I don't get why there is a certain percentage of tax when buying and selling does anyone know the reason cuz I doubt nexon benefits from it

In Maplestory meso drops for monsters, and it may not be a lot but if the economy has to much currency the value of it will go down, so to keep the meso strong nexon takes some out with tax so the economy doesn't overflow with it.

He speaks the truth.
One of the ways meso exits economy to balance the ever increasing amount of meso. If it didn't exist, inflation would constantly occur as people acquire more and more meso (and potion costs, another money sink, can no longer keep up with the meso-acquiring rate).
