Mod note: About the "hacked people IGN list"

Do not post it. If someone has posted it, do not quote that person, but please report him or her of send one of us a PM. Posting the list is a violation of rule #9 and it can endanger your Basil Market account. The same goes for PMing people the list and, in a less serious manner, asking for it.
To the people who complained about the lists staying up for so long: That's for two reasons:
1. We are human; we need sleep and have lives (well, the other moderators do, me not so much. I just need sleep)
2. You bumped the threads with those comments. It's much safer to let those threads drop to previous pages [i]so people don't see them[/i].

Even when your name's on the list and others have seen it there's no reason for panic. People need more than your username to access your account. Make sure you have a strong password and PIC and if you're afraid you'll be keylogged somewhere or have been keylogged, get yourself the Keyscrambler add-on (IE and FireFox). WOT (Web of Trust) is a nice tool that stands between you and malicious websites (works for all major browsers). They won't make your account impregnable, but they're useful.
[b]This is important:[/b] If you have been approached in game by someone who "mysteriously" knew your username and is threatening to hack you if you don't give him money or items, he probably owns a copy of the list and is abusing said list. People are abusing this situation, pretending to be account hackers while they actually only have this list. Don't give them your items. They're most probably frauds. Instead submit tickets to Nexon about them; Nexon needs to know what the MTS leak is causing.

It's absolutely vital that comments containing that list are removed. I'll try to find them now, but I need your help. Send me or my colleagues a PM and we'll clean them up.

It gives away people's user IDs and their respective IGNs, making being hacked that much easier.

At least with the list on this thread, you can simply check if you were on the list to begin with. This list, which only has IGNs, in no way would up the chances of you getting hacked.

@everlive123: brb changing pass lol... uhm isnt it futile to have 30 characters when the know exactly what the 30 characters are? Like if it was: bananahammickforthewin, they'll have that whole pass sent to them so they just type that in

hi guyshi guys, I can say that I was on that list, and now I have a problem, is that nexon server disconnects me when I try to train chosen a chanel, no alluring and I'm playing since 2006, when the 3rd job (lvl 120 ) was the end when Tiguer currishot, fanblade and others were not high lvl, now I can not see my rankig, and I'm losing money by consuming nx and had a shop ... I have to play with a player from 0, plz who can help me, and sent several e tikets

My name was on the list and I did not get hacked. The only strange thing I was in perion in my warrior and when I logged back in I was in Ellina. Strange but the 12 att wg was not touched on it.

If you press CTRL+F you can have your computer search for your IGN on the list. Saves a lot of time.

It was put there with permission from several other moderators so users could check the list for their IGNs. Initially we user several "list keepers" (including myself) to tell people whether they were on it or not, but that took too much time and effort. Since this list does not contain people's login ID I think it's safe to keep it on here (scammers cannot use it to gain the info they'd need to intimidate people into giving them their items or money). I haven't seen Basilers get harassed for being on the list yet (unless the harasser had access to the original list). The only negative side-effect I noticed on Basil was the panic about one of the top five having been or not having been hacked. :S
So many users are so insecure about the list that it'd best stayed up there for the time being. Once this crisis is over this thread won't be necessary any more and it and the link will be deleted.

DDoSing isn't allowed as far as I know and I doubt it'd have any effect. Hackers and scammers have without a doubt saved the original to their computers. Even if the site were DDoSed or the page would otherwise be removed the link would probably continue circulating around the Net. Besides, it would be unfair towards the other users of the site which use the site for completely legitimate reasons.

It means part of your login info has leaked, so you'd more easily be hacked than someone who isn't on the list. It'd be wise to change your password and PIC so they're strong and hard to crack.
