The connection between your access point, router is broken

Well my Internet stopped working and when I troubleshoot I get this message. Does anyone know how to fix this? This usually happens after a power outage and when the power comes back on the internet is like this. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Can you describe your setup in more detail..?
Do you have any other devices besides the modem and the router (and your computer of course)..?

Not sure about that error message, since the router IS the "access point" normally (that means the WiFi device).
Check the WiFi settings on the router and computer to be sure the WiFi password is still set.

Also, if this has happened before, how did you get the Internet connection back?
Thanks for trying to help me . Decided to restore to factory settings and it's working again

When that happens it would be worth trying to reboot the router by unplugging the power cord from the back, waiting a few seconds, then plugging it back in again.

@Mechace117 Holding the reset button in like that will cause the router to completely reset to factory defaults, which means it will erase all the settings. Worst case it means you'd have to reconfigure it with all the settings needed to connect with the Internet. That's why the button is often concealed behind a small hole- so you don't erase all the settings unless you're really intending to.

If that's the case, I would recommend looking at the back of your router and holding the reset button. Wait 3-5 good minutes and reconnect with your computer.
