A Rebirth System?

So you got to lv 150. Congratz. Big whoop. Leveling is slow now... LHC just gets boring after a while. So here is my IDEA about a new way to keep maple interesting... why not restart your character, from Lv1? All over again?

So basically, rebirth works like New Game+ from infinity blade. If you've ever played it. So once you reach lv 70, you can talk to your job instructor to be reborn. You'd have to pay a few mesos, but after that you pretty much start your character over from lv1, but you keep whatever you have in your inv, your cash shop stuff, your extra inv slots, your looks, etc. Everything's the same, but you're lv1.

You also get a special medal. You can choose between different medals with different looks, but they all have the same stats. They are
-Lv (Insert your level here) in disguise
-Second Chance
-Back to square one
The stats are based on the level of your character when you chose to be reborn. For example, being reborn at lv 134 will give you a lv 13 medal, and being reborn at lv 160 will give you a lv 16 medal. The medal stats are as follows:

All stat+ (Medal Level)
Att/M.att+ (Medal Level)
Hp/MP+ 50x(Medal Level)
Speed/Jump +5
MaxSpeed/MaxJump +5

You also get a bunch of other bonuses for rebirthing:
-An option to change your name
-1 Extra row in every inventory
-(for levels 150+) An option to change your eye color to anything you want
-(for levels 120+) 1 permanent nx equip of your choice

So what do you think of my idea?

EDIT: Just to make it clear, you DON'T keep Ap and SP. You're lv 1

This just got owned as a bad idea LOL. If I got to 160 I would never rebirth... just make another level 1 bro. the point of being that high level is to boss and stuff... you can't boss if your level 1.

Leveling is not slow at 150.
It doesn't even start to slow down until late 18x, early 19x, and with all the 2x events we get leveling then is still a breeze.

hmm... interesting. lets work with this some then, as the current form needs work.

Well first, I would say the way the rewards for this should be something worth the effort, but not game breaking. Think ultimate explorer kind of thing, where it has some nice perks, but nothing too much.
Renaming - Sounds fine. Just a cosmetic difference. If you stuck with a badly named char, this would be a nice reward.
Extra slots - I like it. I like to carry more without a cannoneer mule.
Eye color/perm nx. - not bad, but kinda pointless. Unlike the name, this doesn't seem fitting to the rebirth idea so much as just an excuse for some free stuff. Perhaps some unique robes and hat?

Medal and stats - no, that is too much I say. Trim it back some. How about you have to reach lvl 100 to do it at all, and starting at 110 you'd get the medal, and then every 10 levels, the medal would "upgrade" So a level 110 would be a lvl 1, a level 150 would be 5, etc. Keep it 1 att/matt, 1 stats, 1 speed/jump per level, so the final medal would be 10 att, plus 10 all stats. Not much better then a time traveller, so not so game breaking.

I'd also say make sure all passed books transfer over, and the process of it makes them an ultimate adventurer. Keep them locked into the job path they were on (so no switching from warrior to thief). The process can only be done once per character, and maybe have their class be specially titled (like ascended archmage instead of just archmage). Completed quests I am torn on, as some are worth doing again, and most are a pain in the ass, so progress loss would be bad. On a flip, I'd say they transfer over too.

Add another portion of effort in that leveling is slower for them after rebirth. Maybe offer a specific skill or something for a 4th job who was reborn and made it back up to that level a second time around. Again, nothing game breaking, but still rewarding enough to merit the effort.

there is merit to the idea, especially with the changes here. It doesn't break the game but forces people who are power driven now to go back, take their time and do other things to get exp. Alongside an exp fix for aliens/nlc, this would encourage varied map usage and people using pq's again. Hell, maybe even some community interaction aside from the hate and fervor going on now.

For those that hit max level, and even before hand, there is nothing to do. An endless grind to a level cap is then followed with an endless grind for money/items to do the last bosses. After that....nothing, really. This way people can continue their characters, go back and enjoy an aspect of the game they probably flew through and be rewarded for their time and effort in a more tangible way then levels, which has been overshone by items since the big bang.

@thund3rnite: There's also bossing at 120+ and party quests like kenta or escape, and there's also stuff like monster park, and soon aswan when the end of summer is here.
And the variety isn't that amazing either. 1-30 is so short it's a joke. Then after it's mostly just stay NLC because of aliens and jesters taking up most of the levels which is no different than changing from crocks to bearwolves.
If really want to change the endless grinding, need to change the maps. Need to nerf LHC like kms did and make more bosses that are doable that require teamwork and not so ridiculously that it requires you to hit cap, need to make more party quests, and more content/areas, etc, etc. Making it so you have to start all over again(which can do just by making a new character anyways instead of needing to rebirth) doesn't solve anything.

It's not like the only goal of MS is to get to lv 200. Everyone can admit that leveling from 1-90 has more variety in training spots than lv 140-160. For some people going from maple island to job quests to skeletons to kerning square to scarecrows to chryse to jesters to mp3 is more exiting than grinding at crockies, then collecting tons on helmets to get to bearwolfs.

Think about it. Isn't that all the game is? Maybe grinding's fun for some people... Why would people play the game if they thought grinding is boring.

Btw, JMS doesn't have rebirth system. It was only in the tespia server, they got rid of it.

Yes, that would totally work... That's on PizzaSlices. Imagine a rebirthed level 70 training. They would have so much of their main stat and they could just keep repeating getting to level 30 and rebirthing on 2x for super fast AP.
Why would you get to 150 just to go to level 1. Your Logic is flawed.
For 20 all stats 20 atk/matk and 1000 hp/mp I'd start over my shadower. Not saying it's good idea, just that it's not a bad idea because of the concept of getting from a higher level to a lower level with big advantages.
