A Quick and Simple Census for All Basil Users
It's just as the title says, guys. For the sake of curiosity, I'm going to hold a quick poll open to all the users of Basil Market. Every other day, I see threads about how young most of the players are or threads about what more obsessed players have 'achieved' that day, fraught with incomprehensible writing... so I'm going to try something against the norm. And no, this is [i]obviously[/i] not going to affect your MapleStory gameplay (unless, of course, you want it to from here on).
In a perfect world, I would want only people where two or more of the following options apply to them to reply, but I have no power over that... so let's just cut to the chase. If any of the following apply to you, just do me the quick favor of telling me which apply.
• You are of legal age (i.e.: old enough to drink alcohol and/or see an 'R'-rated movie);
• you canâ€"and frequently doâ€"speak fluent English [i]and[/i] type with proper sentence structure (punctuation, capitalization, proper spelling, etc...);
• you play MapleStory for 'fun' rather than seeing it as a competition for who can get to Level 200 first between your friends or who can get the best equipment;
• you play MapleStory as an on-and-off pastime or as a stress reliever rather than to satisfy some sort of game-driven addiction;
• you currently, or at one point, played MapleStory with a friend of yours that you know in the real world;
• you [i]don't[/i] participate in the countless bouts over "which class is better" or "why Nexon made this class so overpowered"; and/or
• you have shown kindness, either in-game or on forums, to people who you believe also meet some of these criteria.
And mind you, if you've gotten this far in reading this, just know this is all optionalâ€"post if you want to, ignore this if you don't. Believe it or not, I can't force you. This is [i]not[/i] about bragging or about superiority over any other forum-goer or player; this is just a thread where you can say "[i]Yeah, I do [X], [Y] and maybe [Z] and I'm proud of myself for it[/i] ". And for those of you who post in this thread and see something that doesn't specifically apply to them, just think to yourself, even if it's for the briefest of milliseconds, "[i]Would it really hurt my gameplay any if I at least tried one of these things from time to time?[/i] "
...and that's all I've got. Let's see how many replies this thread gets... and how many of them are serious.

[x] Speak & Type Fluent English - darn, i'd qualify if i capitalize or punctuate more often -.-
[o] Playing Maple for Fun - yup, i never had the ability to compete, nor have the merching ability to fund for "1337" equipment
[x] Playing Maple On-Off/Stress Reliever - er, i'm both. it depends, sometimes i am addicted, sometimes i just play on and off, occasionally for stress relieve or i can't sleep. but i'll base it on overall and that is im an addict
[o] Playing Maple with a RL Friend - the whole reason why i started this game in the first place.
[o] Not Participating in Countless Bouts - don't really care about which class is better or why they're OPed. just play whatever class i want, mostly trying out classes as they come out. i don't spend enough time with most classes anyway to grasp what the threads are about.
[o] Shown Kindness In-Game and on Basil - pretty much, i'm typically not an aggressive person. i just point out flaws most of the time, but i dont go around bashing on people.
I am of legal age (past 18) but not old enough to drink.
I can type properly, but I'm not strong when it comes to spelling.
Maple has always been just for fun. It's a game so I believe it should be treated like one. However, at one point I found it fun to upgrade my damage but never wanted to be the best in the game.
Back in middle school, I was pretty addicted to Maple but now I have other priorities so I can't log on as much. Also, back then I had limitations on how long I could be on the computer.
I started in Bera because one of my rl friends played there.
I only have a basic understanding of what's recommended for each class but other than that I don't say much about classes being OP. I wouldn't know if they were or not. If the class looks interesting, it's worth a try.
I like to see myself as nice in-game and here on Basil, but I don't really tolerate those who insult other classes for being "weak".
