How disappointing the community is now.

Long story short: WH KSes my WH friend, I go on DW and fail at KSing WH because I can't jump from platform to platform the same way in the Jesters map, I get mad, everything goes into downward spiral, now I'm just disappointed in myself for not being able to defend my best friend.

Relatively long story:

So, I've been playing MapleStory in Khaini since 2006. From what I remember, the majority of people I met when I first started out were VERY helpful and always were willing to guide me around. I even had someone give me 100k to start out (which, at the time, was a large quantity). As the months progressed, I grew to enjoy and love my buddy list because of their mix of personalities friendliness. People were quite amiable when I started.

The only nuisance were dexless assassins. Showing off their damage and kill-stealing anyone who got in their way. It wasn't horrendous to the point where I got angry though.

Then a few years roll by, and new classes come out. Nothing really ever got under my skin so much other than Arans at Gallos, Archmages spamming ultimates, Evans standing on the middle platform of Gallopera spamming Earthquake, and Dual Bladers. One of my greatest friends is a DB and I respect him, just not the majority of the class. I despise some players, not the classes themselves. Now Resistance has been released.

In the midst of all of these new classes and the mass kill-stealing, I decided to make a class as a guard for my best friend. She's the only exception I have for KS guarding. I was never really one to KS or anything at all unless it was to defend only myself since sometimes my friends would have biased or twisted stories. I already have a hero, but I decided to make a dawn warrior. I had the most fun I ever had on MapleStory playing this character.

But then I found how disappointingly miserable this community has become. Trying to find myself a free channel in Truckers was enough, then having people try to KS me was just annoying. What really got to me was how people criticized me for using a dawn warrior. I get hating players for how they use their class, but criticizing someone peacefully training was just downright despicable.

I grew to resent the community more. I grew to really just hate. My best friend was training at Jesters on her Wild Hunter, until another higher leveled Wild Hunter entered and PURPOSELY began KSing her. She messaged me via MSN while I was on mobile MSN on my phone cozy in bed. I get up, turn on my computer, and come to her map on my Dawn Warrior and began trying to get the KSer out of the channel. I couldn't. I even began to talk crap and try to get under his skin when in reality the only one being played on was me. The Wild Hunter just kept jumping from platform to platform, while I helplessly couldn't get around fast enough to KS him. I couldn't stand it. I blew up.

Now I'm ranting about how annoying a new class is. Typical right? Yeah I suppose, but what I'm really trying to get at here is that this community has gone to crap. I can't stand that I now have a negative outlook on the world because of a simple game I play. But that's just how it is, I've become so much more spiteful and annoyed at anything that I feel like having this game change me is just unacceptable. I criticize and judge too quickly now and it's because of this godforsaken game. I love this game to death, and I absolutely despise the majority of the community. Sometimes I wonder, do other versions of this game have it better off? Should I leave all my friends behind so that I'm actually content for once?

Edit: Long story short: People KS us again at Jesters, no big deal.. Until I finally just lose it again because I feel helpless in front of my friend as a 14x Evan destroys the map while later a Dawn Warrior dominates my Battle Mage.

So Christmas Eve's night, I was training on my Battle Mage with my Wild Hunter friend. She decides that she wants to train at Jesters, and after grueling time of finding a channel to settle in, we start leveling. Before long, we both gained a considerable amount of experience which was satisfying for the night, but since Jesters channels are hard to come by, we keep on going. I went to go watch movies with my sisters and told my best friend to text message me if anything came up. By the end of the second movie, conveniently for me, she started getting kills stolen from her by two Battle Mages.

Little did I know, however, that one of the Battle Mages came onto his 14x Evan. I thought it'd be a walk in the park to log in to my Dawn Warrior and defend my friend. Nope, Fire Breath with an immature kid behind the character pretty much dominated me. Once again, I'm unable to defend my friend and I'm left helpless as we're both KSed. We called in some buddies for help, but nothing really worked since it just antagonized him even more. Eventually, the situation simmered down over the period of.. A FEW HOURS.

So I finally got rid of my pride and changed channels maturely, trying to look for a channel. And to my surprise, I found one where I kindly asked the single Wild Hunter in the channel if I could have the channel any time soon. The Wild Hunter left, I logged into my Battle Mage and got my best friend into the channel as well, and we resumed training. And just a few minutes later, another higher leveled Battle Mage comes in. I kindly asked him to change channels, and he simply ignored me and kept on attacking Jesters and pulling them away from me with his dark chain.

Now this is where I see that this is my own fault in hindsight. Out of rage from the past night, and the collective efforts of my friends and myself in trying to defend the last channel we were in, I got onto my Dawn Warrior. I tried to KS him out of the channel and succeeded.. Until he came with two guild mates and his own Dawn Warrior. I was on my Battle Mage training peacefully up until that point, where they made their entrance. I was glad that he only was around to KS me and not my friend, so I kept away from my friend while she trained without any trouble. What really got me was the immaturity of this individual with replying to me asking to change channels with an F2 emote. I have encountered so much more opposition and just straight up annoying incidents with people like this.

I don't discriminate against younger people, hispanics, or anything that many others. I just simply have to reiterate how much I despise this community in general now. My little sister is 13 year old and she types literately on MapleStory. One of my best friends is Colombian. They're both mature that it drives me insane that so many else are not. I understand that I acted immaturely as well in this situation, but I really can't believe how many nuisances I've encountered over the past few days.

I can't believe I just read all of that. o-o; I'm so pro.

OT: Argh. New Maplestory. Doesn't it suck? Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about this. If Nexon banned people like that, it'd only be about 10 people left.
I hate illiterate people, as well. Well, as long as they get basic grammar and sense of humor, I'm fine.

Don't you wish you could have v.01 and so, back? Those were the good days. People were so kind. I made 20 friends on the first day. No potentials or extreme leveling / items. Well, this version's good, too. Easier to make money and leveling is nice. Either way, we just have to deal with it. People should start a guild just for us nice people, eh?
Man Our stories ARE THE SAME. I have a 120 dw, i ks guarded someone against WH in the jester map, I couldn't jump from map to map. THE KSER was PAID BY SOMEONE to KS us cause the payer WANTED to see our misery. But i convinced the kser to be kind and she eventually left.
Somehow your 3x-5x characters make me feel like you don't have a high level DW at all.

OT:
Its not the class its the player, if someone is playing the game to 'kill steal' then they will pick the most appropriate class for it, and currently that class is Wild Hunters, they have 190% speed, double jump, high damage mobbing skills, mines, etc, giving them an easy time ks'ing should they choose to.

I would also say take a break, even if its only a short one, just to try and avoid the rage around the new classes.

Also I'd suggest not letting yourself be pulled around by your 'friend', sorry but if anyone called me in the night and asked me to help them because they were getting ks'ed, they would get a polite *beep*, then me hanging up on them.

Game's not called Maplestory anymore. It's called 'Wildhunter or get out'.
Pretty stupid.

People behind screen = unpunishable by any means. When you have no way of paying for your deeds, your mindset becomes warped and you become this idiotic, unreasonable moron that believes the world is a better place when they can do what they want when they want.

I'm against ksing personally. I don't ks not because I usually can't, but because it's not nice. So you're some pro class ksing me. If I'd use my superiority to ks someone I CAN ks, that'd just go against my No-KS-policy. But there have been some times where being KS'ed was really annoying. For example:

So my slinger was really low lvl, I don't even remember what lvl it was. I was in Masteria so I went to the map where HH spawns cause there are lots of those Jr. Wraiths there. So this DK appears, looking for HH, no luck for him. Then he starts KS'ing my poor slinger. After asking many times to stop, he continued cause it was "fun" and he was "bored". Blacklisted him and... Well, that DK and some others will receive a nice surprise in 15 levels. I play my Marauder most, so I will personally BRING DIVINE JUDGMENT upon these KS'ers that actively KS'ed my slinger with no apparent reason at all.

Thats not always a bad thing though. If i'm training on a map and someone comes in and starts training, i would KS them out the map. I understand where your coming from with this but KSing isn't always a bad thing. Just like you KS to help out your friend sometimes.

OT: There will always be rude people in this game, but i just read a very touching story posted by another mapler about how one act of kindness can make everything seem better. Yes there will always be rude people on this game, (Note: they may not be rude in RL), but there are very nice people out there too.

PS: Try Water goblins, near Himes. Nice flat map, not bad EXP, great for WH!

Popular maps have turned into KS-fests and everyone shouts out "CC NUB" as if the map actually was theirs. I'd say it would be best if you tried training at a less crowded map, and go to Jesters at deserted times (Early morning/ Later night).

I understand where you're coming from, but the worst people are usually also the most loud and noticeable. There are a lot of ksers and jerks and whatnot, but they don't make up the majority of the community.

The best way to beat the ksers is to swallow your ego and move on. I've been in a lot of situations where somebody started ksing, but after I offered to party we shared the map and sometimes became friends too. That doesn't always work, but then you need to cc. It's just a waste of time to get all mad at someone and spend several hours trying to ks them... for a map in an online game.

Good luck, hope things work out for you.

Tell me about it, eventually the community will be run over by tards who don't give any thought about anyone else and become greedy, selfish people. Look at hackers, they don't care about anyone else, they just want to cause other people grief and are just a big nuisance to us all. And don't get me started on scammers and KSers. It just seems like the Maple community's IQ just dropped down to a -5. I'm a casual player and I try not to deal with this nonsense, asking nicely or just avoiding those people that grind my gears. Sometimes its inevitable and I just have to deal with, life is full of people you will come to hate. I digress however, but unfortunately, if we're going to play Maplestory, we're going to have to deal with these kind of people or we can ask Nexon to get rid of these people but as we know, Nexon won't do anything about it so I suggest the first option.

It happens pal. I had started a page quite recently until due to getting ks'd out of everything I decided I'd be happier just messing around on a dexless Nightwalker with some lower level friends. I also play khaini and remember when we had a good community.

1. Ive known maplestory as this since beta as this. Of course you didn't see ksing often because there was so little population and maplestory had little to offer, but the community was no different.
2. Class discrimination was out since they put assassins into beta.
3. This isn't only in Maplestory, my generation in general have grown accustomed to violent, procrastinating, lazy behavior that throws them to the point where I don't see at future in any sort of a career for them. My U.S. History class has 20 E grades, and I'm the only person with an A; maybe 3 people with Bs.
I just feel like the future of this generation is dim and dark, because most people nowadays are not smart, and very sinister. People are just arrogant. Maplestory is just one game of so many with corrupted communities.

My list of things:
1. Back then, people gave me free money.
2. Now people just sell really high and try to scam.
3. Only met one nice DB in my life.
4. People in CPQ say they solo or they expel me from party.
5. Too many scammers in CPQ
6. 3rd job nubs purposely ksing at level 20 maps.

Just think about it. You're getting mad over a 'game'
Yes that is pathetic as it sounds. If a game is no longer enjoying for you its time to call it quits, especially if its doing the opposite.
Though its not the games fault, its just people in general.
I think if you're getting angry over a video game
its time to reevaluate your values in life.

I've been playing maple since Beta
Its always been bad, you find a few 'good' friends for the ride and thats it.
Its the internet, why should other people care about what you feel/care?
Morals? Pssh to me you guys are just a bunch a kids/adults sitting behind a computer screen, that will never effect my life.
I have no qualms about tormenting those who will never benefit me,(not that I go out of my way to do that) but....srs I don't feel any guilt when I do.
The only reason I bother with the community on maple is because I see some of them benefiting me, IE:Guilds
I/They just do whatever they need to, to further themselves. Tis 'Egoism'
Its just another lesson of the internets bro.

Actually, Khaini is relatively the most friendly server I've been in. It's just that select individuals at populated maps just make me want to have a stroke. I'm proud of my world.

Well Maple is sort of divided ja.

1->140: are filled with grindfests and fighting off KSers.
140->200: are drama fuelled KS boss crashing.

At the end of the day, you play Maplestory to enjoy yourself - and if you don't, play something else.
people think they're tough behind computers.
when i ask to see their face they're fat and ugly.
i met 4 people like that
It matters not that they're ugly, but that their personality is ugly.
That alone pretty much makes them a bad person, regardless of their looks.
I'm a mildly handsome chubby dude. I'm also sensible and reasonably aggressive when I have to be.

there are rude people of every kind, male/ female, ugly and not so ugly.
