Applying to college
So..for early stuff, I applied to Upenn Wharton and Georgia Tech, I got accepted at Tech but denied from Penn.
Now for regular decision, I just finished all apps to: Harvard, Stanford, Dartmouth, Cornell, Washington St. Louis, Duke, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, NYU, Emory, USC, Georgetown.
What are my chances of getting rejected from every single one of the schools above..omg T_T. I am scared.
How are you guys doing with colleges?

@jaesang0 yeah i know. but im an immigrant from china, came 7 years ago..so i had to learn english. and i am first generation. so..am i good?
and yeah, the app fees are very expensive. I got questbridge finalsit status so some of the fees are waived. but still, its about 600-700 with the score reports and css porfile stuff. My family is getting pissed from all this money spent on applications, but at the sametime, they want me to go to a top school
Yeah that's a lot of schools. Damn. Well best of luck! You're grades are very good, a 4.0 is the best thing to have on a college app. Your SAT total is a little low for a lot of these, like those ivies, Stanford, Duke and Northwestern. The other places should be fine. Your Subject tests are outstanding, so no worries there. Don't be discouraged if you get denied from places like Harvard and Stanford. The acceptance rates there are ridiculously low. DOn't take it personally, it's pretty difficult for the admissions officers to sift through so many 4.0, 2400, perfect students and figure out what else they have.
When you apply for all those schools, don't you have to pay every time? ~o~
It's not where you go- it's what you make of it.
I doubt you'll get into Duke.
I also don't advise going there for undergrad anyways even if you get in...
800 + 800 + 800 = 2100?
Last time I checked that equals 2400. Something tells me you got a lot lower on the math section. Also I've never heard of a school that has 10+ classes that someone takes all at once.
He means he got 800 on Math2 and Physics which are SAT 2s. & for SAT1 he got a perfect score for the math portion.
ivy league+ stanford are always a crapshoot. you can never count yourself out from getting in, but you can never say for sure that you will be accepted. i'd say that you'll have a good chance of getting into usc and nyu, but i don't know much about washu/vanderbilt/duke/nw
@sleepyhobo Physics and Math 2 are subject tests..They don't get factored into the 2400 max that you can get on the regular SATs, and they don't get added together the way you just added them. He didn't say he was taking 10+ APs at once either. Also, taking 10+ APs is pretty standard for students at top-ranked schools.
@Momo123 All of the schools he listed are private schools. Out-of-state tuition doesn't exist at any of them.
OP, your an idiot. First off, you probably spent over $400 for the applications to all those universities. Second of all, the universities you named are scattered across the USA. Your most likely going to pay out of state fees, and out of state fees for universities like NYU or USC are like $30k or more a semester. I highly doubt any scholarship will pay for that, unless your a valedictorian and have a 4.0gpa with a 2400 SAT score. Smart thing to do is go to a state university.

Colleges and universities are selective. If they want "diversity" --- other races may have priorities over others, given they have the same grades, etc.
Well, i noticed that for penn i didnt write nice essays, and now i sortve did..i think?
well, im ranked 11/760. taken 10 ap classes. Enrolled in Georgia Tech calc 2/3. 4.0 unweighted gpa. 2100 sat (800 math). 800 math2, 800 physics. thats bout the basics. Got plenty of leadership and extracurriculars.
I think you'll get into Cornell. I know you'll get into NYU.
I'm not sure about the rest

@WhooyaMS: Affirmative action and asians have a much harder time getting into college.
@Sovietpower: It also depends on your high school. UPenn hates my school (only one person got in on ED), while Harvard loves us, and accepted 6 (or 7, I don't remember) people this year on early.
what's your extra curricular? Race? Are you rich or poor?
