I think I will get diabetes

seriously. my dad's parents and my mom's mother all have type 2 diabetes. They developed it when they reached 65. They are all thin and healthy.

my dad and mom also sometimes experience high blood sugar problems. but no diabetes yet.

the thing is.. i LOVE high carb food. i freaking love white rice. I FREAKING LOVE PENNE PASTA. I FREAKING LOVE WHITE BREAD TOAST.

life why are you so cruel? anything that is pleasurable is bad for us...

i think garlic and onions are the only thing that's both healthy and tasty, espcially garlic. have you guys tried roasting garlic slices with olive oil and salt on the oven or a pan? develop that golden brown crust and it tastes AMAZING. have it as a side dish.

onions don't really taste that good by themselves but they add so much flavour to soups and sauces while still being healthy. but i guess caramelized onions taste really good. you don't need to add sugar. just olive oil and some patience with an hour to kill.

T2DM is usually associated with obesity leading to insulin resistance. I think if you exercise and eat well, you'll be fine. I eat a lot of rice, I also work out a lot. My blood sugar is fine.

Check out the Keto diet, it's crazy how much food is full of carbs. I've gone through cartons of eggs since I started it. So. Many. Eggs.

Everything in moderation.. as best as you can. Carbs like pastas, breads, cereals.. and the obvious junk are a diabetic's worst enemy. There's some sugars in fruits and veggies but it's not too big of a deal. Just exercise, drink water.. avoid sodas especially (which is probably the main culprit in my diagnosis 2 years ago).. and you should be fine. The occasional carbs and junk shouldn't hurt too much. Also varies on luck to some degree.. how your organs take it. I have an older sibling who used to be 2-3 times my size and they never developed diabetes and I did. You really never know what could happen. So my suggestion is to really.. just take care of yourself as best as you can kind of thing.. without depriving yourself entirely of fun. Gotta live a little too after all. Best of luck to you.

Just eat smaller amounts and substitute it with vegetables and lean meats. Too much carbs in your diet can make you feel sluggish.

Substitute white rice with brown rice, substitute white bread toast with whole grain toast, substitute penne pasta with whole grain pasta, still has carbs but its better for you! I love carbs just as much, yeast rolls, biscuits, and stroganoff!
