Thoughts On Mechanic Update

For starters the "new" GUI menus are absolutely horrendous and tiny. It's now less convenient to scroll something or go through your stuff. It's annoying to have all these different menus when trying to equip something and see your character. What the hell was Nexon thinking? Save the nostalgia for maps and events, not functionality.

The Mech changes aren't all that or major but at least its a start. If you choose to vote please say why and add your input.

What I liked:
1) Right off the bat, Laser Blast feels so much faster, it feels like i'm on speed infusion! I definitely noticed a difference using it.
2) Mobile Siege - it's not the most innovative improvement but every bit helps.
3) Reactive Armor becoming passive = one less buff to cast.
4) Drillhands works no matter what. I think the range slightly increased too.

What I disliked:
1) Losing the Reactive Armor animation. It felt so cozy safe and happy getting into that giant box and it sounded cool too, it was an impressive animation that for me was slightly motivating. It made you want to boot up and power up, to wreck things up.
2) The 5% damage boost to Laser Blast. Really? What does 5% do? It's really just irrelevant given how much our damage can fluctuate. Oh well I guess it's something. But why even bother? To me its more like a slap in the face. I was hoping it was a typo and it would've been +50% now you'd be talking a noticeable difference.
3) Hovercraft mode - it's way better than any hideous thing Nexon could have made, but it doesn't really flow with the job. Tank to a hovercraft? Aren't hovercrafts supposed to be extremely fast too? Still capped at that dam nasty speed, still no wind walk/FJ either. So siege mode is STILL a coffin, just mobile now. So no need to worry about leaving your death behind, take your grave where ever you go
4) Waiting God knows how long for that Seed update for some real changes.

Final thoughts & My version of a Mechanic Revamp/update: Along with seed changes also..
1)Hovercraft can only be employed after entering tank mode, the restriction is kind of a turn off. If you could use it from prototype mode, lets call it Hovercraft Prototype, using the current power of tank siege and while utilizing the quickness of prototype mode, would make for an awesome option.
Whereas Hovercraft Tank mode would be, what it is currently but far stronger with perhaps +15% boss damage or something that would make the coffin restrictive danger worthwhile. So having two modes would be cool but maybe too complex.
2) I'd still like to see Satellites attack range match the range of Laser Blast.
3) Giant Robot - Can we get the force field it used to have back?
4) Robot factory - I'd like more than three at a time. 6 or up to 10 would be really worthwhile along with being cute and funny seeing your map infested with minions.
5) Amplifier Robot - Make it a map area buff. As long as its activated and you're on the map you receive 15% damage boost, if your close into the range of the robot you get 20% damage. If your right next to the thing you get 25% damage boost + 10% boss damage or 10% crit.
6) Healing robot - just make the thing heal as a familiar heals, and if your within its range you gain +15% status resist with healing.
7) Acceleration robot - works exactly the same way but longer duration as well as adding monster damage reduction. Working somewhat like a Paladin's Threaten.
8) Mechanic Rage - Should also add 10% critical.
9) Open Portals - Many players if at all any, don't know they can use our portals too. How about making the portals more attractive by adding a chance to dispel? At first it makes no sense but when you think about it, you use these things to help you run away from bosses. So if you're hit with a status and trying to find safety why not mix two into one?
10) Perfect armor - Raised to 30% and when in tank/hovercraft 35%. Then in siege mode 45%. Also passively adds more HP/defenses.
11) Rocket Booster - give us iframes when in use, if it already doesn't. I don't really notice so I can't tell.
12) Prototype mode - more HP, more defense just because.
13) Tank mode have speed and jump still locked but in return become way more durable. Also faster rocket booster!
14) Cosmetic upgrade or overhaul - As much as I love the concept of this job and everything about it, its just so freaking fugly. If you do a quick google image search for robotics, you'll see so many cool robots and designs. Why on earth does it look like a toaster/microwave/box with legs? They could have made the tank mode look like the Overlords brown tanks from Neo City, and prototype mode look like the walking drones in the last section of Neo City. That's one reason why I despise Jett's class, the futuristic clean looking robots, and that's what robots are - futuristic. Rather than a dirty rusty brown clunker made of junk yard parts. No offense to anyone who likes the job. I understand the idea and origin of the story of taking parts and stuff from an underground bunker but still. It's just so ugly.

Thanks for all the input guys, especially you PremiumNoir. I just threw in the DrillHands since it was a positive thing although really has little use.

About my point of having the prototype-hover and tank-hover, Kazzooey said it better than what I was really trying to get at.
Kazzooey "Why do you have to switch into a 3rd (4th if you're not mounted already) mode for siege? I don't want to switch through two modes so I can go from Laser to Siege, that's stupid as hell. They could've just automatically upgraded your Siege Mode into the Hovercraft Mode without having to switch into it."

#9 Maybe the portal dispel could be abused, by I did say a chance at dispelling. A chance! To discourage/prevent abuse.

#2 the monsters have to be almost in your face though :C
#3 Back then when Mechanic's first came out, when you would summon the Giant Robot, as the animation began, there was also a blue orb that would surround you as an energy field. So while you had the chance to power up your attack by spamming attack button, any monsters that would come too close to you would get damaged. It actually worked EXACTLY like our distortion bomb hyper. Same animation, same attack sequence except it was your personal bubble surrounding you and would push monsters away from you while killing them. Why they removed this I will never understand.
#14 hahaha so I was right that they really are just that. Oh well if there's ever a 5th job maybe it could incorporate a progression in the story line so that'd make sense to allow us an "upgrade". Like we finally made it to the base and they had secret extra xenon vehicle parts (the black hover craft things she summons) and we could steal it and use them through reverse engineering. Along with letting us have the option of hanging onto our "toasters" cosmetics. So this is all totally cosmetic.

Also don't you dare apologize for saying "too much" there's no such thing in a brain storm. This is exactly what I wanted and was looking for, so thanks for you "long" input. I appreciate the effort.

I have a question about Mechanic's character card effect. At S rank it gives 15% Buff duration. How does the buff's stack with a Bishop with Epic inner potential Buff duration 19% and Bishop's passive for increasing buff's. Would the difference be noticeable?

Before patch: Bottom of the barrel.
After patch: Still at the bottom of the barrel.

If something continues to be the worst at what it's meant to do, then I can't really call it an improvement. This update blows. Wake me up when my personal class isn't at the bottom of everything anymore.

In my opinion this entire updated sucked monster ass. But as for the mech "revamp" this was total garbage, I mean I told my buddies exactly what happened with mechs and even they all laughed at me. This was by far the most LAZIEST revamp ever done by nexon.

[*]Reactive Armor going passive is welcomed. Kinda miss the animation cause it looked and sounded cool.
[*]Laser Blast, honestly I couldn't care less. I already 1-3HKO most everything and I was always with SI and Green Pot so I don't quite care for it at all.
[*]Hovering mode, I hate this stupid thing. Why is this our 150 Hyper? Why do you have to switch into a 3rd (4th if you're not mounted already) mode for siege? I don't want to switch through two modes so I can go from Laser to Siege, that's stupid as hell. They could've just automatically upgraded your Siege Mode into the Hovercraft Mode without having to switch into it. Who's brilliant freaking idea was that? And the cherry on top is that it's most likely because of this mode that our siege is glitched too.
[*]Why in the hell did they give us the first update? Why didn't they give us the 2nd rebalance update in the 2nd part of FLY? Like I said, this whole update was a pile of poo. The only ones who truly enjoy it are DB and Cannons.

I'm actually now just trying to find a buyer for my empress hat pirate hat. Wanted to hold onto this thing until I knew it was safe to quit my mech or at least set him on the back burner permanently, but this "revamp" was just a kick to the balls. 5th Job isn't going to happen so no point in sticking around waiting for that after seeing how we get treated by Nexon anyways.

So if anyone in Khaini wants to buy my Empress AB hat, lemme know. I might just sell it to you. I don't think there's very many of these in Khaini at all.

Click the Siege skill in your skill window and it will dismount. Yeah it's tedious but I have to work with it whenever I ra/cra with my friends
