Exactly what was the point of the new level cap?

"However, after level 200, you will no longer gain AP or SP. Maximum level quests such as medals and the hall of fame will still be given to you at level 200. The rankings from before this change will be saved on the MapleStory homepage."
Yes, stronger content can be a good thing. But is it a good thing if bosses have 999^99 billions of health, and you're continuously hitting 555555555555-ish? Why not just REDUCE everything by say, 200 millions, so we would be able to look at a number and say "oh, I just hit over 1000!" instead of "oh I just hit X numbers, but I'm not sure how many since the number filled my entire screen from left to right". Never mind the fact that if we were gonna get stronger, the AMOUNT of lines would also increase. Yay. Instead of hitting 15 times in a row, I will now hit 59 times with 1 hit, just so I can decrease my chance of seeing things.

The way it is right now is RIDICULOUS and I'm constantly facepalming when I see a newer class fighting in Maplestory. It's a wall of text per hit... >.< And the only "natural" way to evolve into a stronger game from here, is to continue with this wall of text-syndrome.

So yes, I am for a nerf. If every skill that hit X amount of % was reduced by 90% and every boss's health was nerfed similarly, what would be the problem? It's not exactly a bad thing if you're putting the game back to a stage from which it can evolve. Right now I don't see how Maplestory's enemies and heroes can be stronger without increasing the amount of damage 1 line does, and the amount of lines 1 attack does.
We can get rid of the stacks of damage and make each attack hit once and get rid of the damage cap. That way, there will be significantly fewer numbers to read.

It's a placeholder. There will be more high level stuff in the future. Please read other articles on that blog, it's very clear.

Because lvl 200s quit because they have nothing to do, and then Nexon don't earn any money.. So they raised the dmg cap so the 200s will continue maple.

Setting it up for future content.
It's not like people haven't gotten past 70 when only 2nd job was out, or past 120 when only 3rd job was out.
