Synerate Level 120 Scania Shadower
Hello everyone.
It's been a long time since I have played, logged off in 2011. Have been logging on here and there this week trying to get my CB and Dawn warrior back on their feet.
I think I disappeared right after the CB skills BOT and Assaulter were removed (didn't leave for that reason just sort of stopped showing up)

I'm currently 108 CB, using this guide as a reference.

I had a few questions.
  1. Looking at the guides for the current CB build, it says max Haste to 20, but mine only goes up to 10. Is there a quest/item to expand that or is this a typo in the guide?
  2. Any inspirational/showcasing videos of CB or Shadower recommended?
  3. Anything else I should be aware of other then no more BOT or Assaulter?

Thanks in advance, looking forward to mapling again ^_^

Cool, I'm glad Basil hasn't changed in terms of manners

I do have a pumpkin basket I got from a Halloween event that says "2006 pumpkin basket"
When I mean old school I mean when the only party quests were Kerning and Ludi.

I don't want to argue who is more punk(old school). Just curious if anyone could bring me up to speed a bit in terms of the current state of the dit.

The term CB is used as much as people use the word "Hermit" when it comes to classes in maple. ** Why do you want to know that? ** It's because people zoom past being a CB and into Shadower. Just like Hermits to NLs. ** Why am i telling you this?** it's because leveling now has became super fast. Because of that super fast, putting in your skill points max a skill is like drinking water. Back in the day it was important to know what skills to max first because you will be stuck at that level for a day or two before you can go on and i understand why you want a guide for skill points. Now, things are a little **different**. you will get to ** max each of your skills.** Incase you screw up on SP, all you need to do is level up. It was hard back then and now its easier.
I dont know your reasons for playing CB again. If its because you love its play style, i can tell you that they took a 180 turn and it wont feel the same.

@mrsindeath19 Coming as a beta tester, It is comments like those that make old school players look bad. You make us look like a self centered dbag that thinks everyone not from 2006 is an ungrateful little sht. Also, no one asked you about being #OG.

Oh wow, I'm a bit out of touch!

I did notice leveling was not as stagnant on my Dawn Warrior. This also explains why I can't label my character Chief bandit but only shadower.

The reason? I have always been a dagger-rougish kind of play style; but more importantly this guy has always been my main, and I kind of want to see him through. For me damage isn't the most important to me, but just making something work with a touch of style is.

At this point, I'm ready to accept what the Shadower has become. If it was ever about damage output, I would have resigned to night lord a long time ago

@Synerate: Thats fine, it was never expected you to like "shads" for damage. Especially not someone that comes back after a while. If its your main and its important that you want to see through for him, i have good news for you. Maple has this system where you can change your job (** not class ** so if youre a thief you stay a theif). Say you give shadowers a try and you dont like it very much. You can convert your character to a dual blade (DB). Its one of the new class since you were gone that uses shadower stuff. The only equipment you need is a "Katara" that's a DB's version of a CB's shield except it looks like a second dagger.

That's really cool, I will be sure to keep that in mind if it becomes unbearable. Not above giving my Shad a fire emblem style promotion to something else
Do dual bladers still have Flying assaulter?

Also, I REALLY appreciate your responses! Thanks for being an all around cool person

@synerate
Yes, they do have it. Its even cooler now because they have a skill that makes you fly up as you slash monsters and you can combo that with flying assaulter. They've been revamped for the better. Yeah dude, 100%. its a pleasure to help! And youre very welcome (: i'm flattered.

As @EpikSnow said, skill orders dont really matter. I mainly go about passive buffs -> active buffs -> main attking skill -> other skills. Also, at lvl 108, you should be able to get ur 4th job adv. And the guide you're looking at is about 2 years old now. Its pretty out of date.

For training spots, follow this guide. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DNoEyux1CV9E1tuSIO7OItOA_WJXhQZThJA923r9cIs/edit?pli=1#gid=421481354

For funding, focus on getting to 140, doing gollux prequests, selling the superior ring and earrings, and getting yourself a clean CRA set (fafnir damascus, Eagle Eye Assassin pants, Eagle Eye assassin shirt, Eagle Eye assassin bonnet).
Buy the reinforced earring and ring from the gollux coin shop, a clean reinforced pendant and belt from fm, and scroll your gear over time (gollux gear with advanced gollux scrolls from gollux shop, wep with spell traces, and armors with chaos of goodness).
Once you hit around 200k range, you should be able to solo dojo, and use dojo gloves.
If you can afford them, tyrant capes and shoes are the way to go, if not, just use whatever you can get your hands on until you can afford them.
Badges and Emblems are free through quests.
