Pdr useless after Unlimited?
I heard the way pdr is calculated is being changed from additive to multiplicative when Unlimited comes out. Doesn't this mean %PDR will essentially lose a ton of usefulness? You can no longer get 30% PDR from two 15%'s, instead you will have 17.25%-only a 2.25% difference. So basically it becomes nearly useless...

just because it's improbable for their defense to hit 0 doesn't mean it's (nearly)useless. I'd rather shave off as much as i can off a monster's defense than leave it as is. Plus it's so easy to cut pdr down anyway. You're probably gonna get their pdr down to like 10 - 15 now instead of 0 which is still better than facing without the redux
So characters with several PDR skills/items would notice a dmg decrease whereas those will either 1 pdr skill/ complete ignore pdr or no pdr will not notice a difference.
It's not useless, just hard to get, thats y abyss set is the best set bcse it has pdr% on the top, bottom and weapon
This is just there physical/magical defense, not the actual PDR.
Like how snails have more defense than.. nothing.
Obviously you're gona hit less on CPB than on a snail.
At the unlimited argument, we'll have to see.
A lot of calculations are BS until we get them in gMS.
Lol, or read southperry.
I'm not really complaining or anything, but this is a pretty massive change. Is Nexon's attempt to make monsters more difficult to kill, along with the HP and defense changes?
Not really, I see it more as a balance for certain classes. For example BMs we get moving Hurricane at level 195. While that is actually better than most non-high level bowmasters think it qualitatively can not compete with the the quantitative boost that other classes get like a WH getting 20% PDR to WaB. However, with Unlimited 20% additional PDR to WaB for me is equivalent to a 3% damage increase, in which I rather have the moving Hurricane.

Also just read your post. PDR multiplicative does not work like that it works like this.
Say you have 2 equips that give 20% PDR and 30% PDR and fighing a 70% PDR monster.
Now: 70*(.20+.30)=35% PDR remaining.
Unlimited: 70*.80*.70= 39.2% PDR remaining.
Thus in Unlimited it is IMPOSSIBLE to reduce a monsters PDR to 0% (Merc's Defense Break being an exception)
Edit: read your post agian -_- yea your right, you stated it in a roundabout way.
Play the game as it is.
Its not useless....its just once you get two major chunks of PDR, the incentive to achieve more drastically drops.
Make it so people are less overpowered.
what?
