Returning to Maple. Whats new?

So I thought I'd get back into Maple Story, or at least try to. I haven't logged in since Mechanics/Wild Hunters (Whichever came last) were released. No idea how long ago that was.
I did just read through the latest patch notes, so I know there are some restricted classes (Would love a Mercedes, but will have to wait). I also noticed a limit to some of the PQ's, which is a bit odd, any reason for that?
Anywho, I'm still redownloading, so I'm not entirely sure what I have in terms of characters/mesos etc. I know that I've got a 7X Outlaw and a 5X/6X Dual Blader. Who should I focus on? Or should I go ahead and create an altogether new character?
As for characters, who are the new powerhouses? Can't remember what were considered the better characters when I last played.
Any other information would be great, too!

Edit: According to my Basil ID, I have a level 58 Assassin too! Didn't realise that, ahahaha.

Thank you for all of the info, guys...albeit a bit negative, ahaha. I've just been on to check some bits out, I'm a lot poorer than I thought I was! (Only about, 8mil?) but atleast I've still got some decent items.
I think I'll stick with either my Bandit, DB or Outlaw in all honesty, I'm not one for jumping on a class because they're powerful, I enjoy classes that are fun and challenging to play. I was just curious!
I guess I'll just try to get myself sorted out, I'm torn on who to carry on with, it'll likely be the Bandit or DB though. Did Bandits get buffed? I just had a little play around on mine and was hitting like...8k at level 58 with level 22 SB? I don't remember them being that powerful (This not being fully equipped either).
You guys are forgetting that the Aran's got buffed like mad too.
There's a lot more content, though they destroyed NLC. Literally.
Don't be surprised when the game suddenly disappears. They're loads of unscheduled maintenances, because the hackers/dupers crash the stuffs.
well as of right now, the top powerhouse is evans, because of the recent buff.
But in about 2-3months thieves and pirates are all being revamped, and according to a post justice DPM/DPS charts, shads become top 1v1, and high mobbing(although i dont really know if idagree 100% with it)
and in probably 4months DB's are being revamped, and will FSU!
not to mention they were recently revamped, so u should check yours out now.
Don't listen to @above, it's always been like that, aside from the duping crap.
This is actually a nice time to start Maple, because Justice is coming up and we are getting a turn for the better imo. This Alliance Unbound thing was terrible, but there are clear skies ahead (I hope). I like to have optimism towards Nexon, rather than complain </3
