The New Auction system
This is all my opinion but I would also like your input as well so please think on this.
I personally feel the new auction system is extremely flawed, I say this because of a few reasons. The biggest reason is the immense time an auction has before it expires. The old system gave you a choice of one, two, or 5 days and that is because if there was no limit people would be doing what they are doing now. Which is leaving auctions up and barely checking them while also not providing feedback to those trying to purchase the item. This was not as much a problem in the old system because usually there was a minimum price which isn't apparent in the new system. There is also the new systems bartering way which allows you to add items and mesos as an offer. I agree it is a good direction but most of the time its basically like the forums where people are saying "1 maybe 2" or giving off comments that are not even coherent really. I propose that instead of this bartering system, we should implement a tag system where you can list the items you want to trade for and just tag them on the offers. Now I know its a little extra work but it insures everyone is getting a better basilmarket experience.
That's pretty much my problems with the new auction system. Mr.basil if you read this please fix or maybe reassess the new auction system. I know it's been here for a while but better now than never.

edit- I also forgot to mention that because of the new system, Mr. basil took off the trading listing. I guess that's because we can add items/mesos to the new auction system, but if possible I'm hoping that he will re add the trade listing because like some of the things people commented on is the fact that they don't use the auction system as much as they used to. So it's a lot harder to find the item you need or an item even in the range of what you need. Best example unique capes, which before the new auction system could be found easily now people aren't even bothering to put maybe 5 listings of capes. This might just be windias auctions but I would like it back if its possible. What do you guys think?

True that's why I'm asking for a reassessment of the auction system. Why can't we have the best of both worlds is really where I'm coming from.

It doesn't hurt to try. Since most people are having a problem with this I'm sure everyone can spare maybe 2 min to write down how they feel. If not I will just close this thread and remake one with a poll. It's just like i said an opinion, Mr. Basil doesn't have to read this but I feel we all would like him to so why not.

It's been over two months. Many petitions have been made, and many concerns have already been raised in the Site Talk section. Mr. Basil is not reasonable. He has a record of making sudden changes to the site without feedback from the community.

But we are part of this website regardless and I feel Mr. Basil is logical enough to listen, I mean he did make this website and he and his team uploads new items quite punctually. So I feel if enough of us ask, he would most likely listen to reason. I forgot to make this a poll but I just might for those who don't want to comment. We should all have a say in this.
Yeah. Im having trouble selling stuff too. I always like the old auction system. People would be like checkin out the last minute auctions for good items and stuff. I also looked at basil to check on the average prices sold items so I could get an idea but now, its not so good anymore.
I'd like to post an essay destroying this new auction system, but considering all the past topics made and Mr. Basil being foolishly stubborn about it, there doesn't seem to be a point. If Mr. Basil wants to make his website less popular, then that's his choice.
I like the super old system where you could post what you wanted to buy also not just sell.
I also agree. The old way was a lot easier and to the point.
Now there are too many possibilities of not trading successfully and it is harder than it needs to be...

I actually agree, I do miss the one feature where we could see the past auction items and the price they sold for, which was replaced with ability to see other auction of the same item. I think Mr. basil should add them both on since there both good features.

I stopped using Basil's auction system ever since it was changed to this... monstrosity. >.<

I stopped using basil for selling stuff, all I do is using it for threads and listings . . . I can't even do a p/c by looking up recent ended auctions anymore! :C I personally dont think this new system is as effective as the old one >.>
Edit: Sometimes . . . It's better to leave stuff intact w/o the way it is, instead of making it better which can ended up worse then it originally is before.
Almost anything is better than what we have no lol.
