What are some fun Wii games?

A friend told me that if I wanted I could buy his Wii for $50

Sounds like a good deal but the thing is that I would rather get myself a ps3 or xbox 360 to play other games such as marvel vs cap.
What are some fun games on the Wii that could persuade me to buy one over an xbox and ps3? The one thing I see with the Wii is that I could have friends over and we play multiplayer games but on the other hand I could play xbox live with my friend too.

Games I could think of:
SSBB
Mario Party
Mario kart
Legend of zelda wind waker (assuming that gamecube games works)

the wii does have quite a few good options
if you do decide to skip on it, at least do yourself the favor of getting a ps3. sony has tons of great exclusives as well as having the multi-platform titles that would mostly be your reason for buying a 360.

good games for the wii, basically based on what my (nearly-complete) wii library has:
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, genre: puzzle
Xenoblade Chronicles, genre: rpg with an MMO-esque interface
The Last Story, genre: action rpg
Resident Evil 4, genre: action, tps, survival horror. this is THE definitive version of RE4
Little King's Story, genre: rts similar to Pikmin
Muramasa: The Demon Blade, genre: artistically amazing action rpg
Monster Hunter Tri, genre: action rpg, similar to an mmo in structure
Mariokart Wii
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Kirby's Return to Dreamland, it's great multiplayer and has considerable challenge in the side missions too.
Kirby's Anniversary Collection, Kirby64, Kirby 3, and Super Star are worth the price tag alone but you also get a cool soundtrack/packaging and the other equally good games.
Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2
Okami (until Okami HD comes out, this is the definitive version of Okami), genre: action rpg, beautiful visually and musically
No More Heroes 1 and 2, genre: action rpg, oozing style with great music
Mad World, genre: action with an interesting visual style
de Blob 1 and 2, genre: platforming, the soundtrack changes as you influence the game world and there are plenty of side challenges
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (nearly 1:1 sword motions and it blows TP out of the water in most ways)
Pandora's Tower (this is an upcoming release, interesting looking action rpg that seems similar in tone to SotC with gameplay like GoW+Zelda)
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, genre: farm simulation, dating simulation, dungeon crawling. it's a great fusion of a normal rpg game with the aspects of Harvest Moon and this is the best iteration so far.
Sakura Wars: So Long, My Friend, genre: trpg with dating sim elements
Arc Rise Fantasia, genre: rpg
Phantom Brave: Until We Meet Again, genre: trpg, made by the same team behind Disgaea
Baroque, genre: dungeon crawler (it's fun enough, keep it near the bottom of your list though)
Dead Space: Extraction, genre: rail shooter (great Dead Space experience and it's a good rail shooter)
House of the Dead Overkill, genre: rail shooter
Sin and Punishment: Star Successor, genre: rail shooter (unique rail shooter that has a cool setting and gives you an on-screen avatar to control)
Cursed Mountain, genre: survival horror
Dokapon Kingdom, genre: party rpg, think Marioparty if it was an rpg. only ever play this with people and make sure you can get a constant group together!
Excitebots: Trick Racing, genre: racing
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Elebits, genre: shooter? it's a fun little seek-and-find shooter with a lot of additional challenge should you want it.
Endless Ocean, genre: calm exploration. sort of a scuba-diving simulator it's definitely a coo thing to experience and relax w/.
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, genre: trpg
Wario Land: Shake It!
Warioware: Smooth Moves
Pikmin 1 and 2
the Metroid Prime trilogy
Kirby's Epic Yarn, different from past Kirby titles but really fun and mellow
Epic Mickey 1
Trauma Team and Trauma Center: New Blood, genre: medical simulation
Tatsunoko vs. Capc0m, genre: fighting
Sonic Colors
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, genre: exploration, rpg, survival horror
Mario Strikers Charged, genre: sports (soccer)
Red Steel 2, genre: shooter. surpasses the mediocre first game in every way. good motion controls and setting/art direction.
Opoona, genre: rpg
Metal Slug Anthology, genre: sidescrolling shooter, classic as hell arcade fun and great for co-op too
Shiren the Wanderer, genre: rpg, roguelike

and some gamecube games you should pick up

Killer 7, genre: rail shooter/adventure/rpg. oozes style visually with 7 different playable characters, cool enemies, and an engrossing story
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, genre: adventure, survival horror. a horror experience like no other, not so much scary but profoundly thought out and executed. multiple endings for replayability.
Chibi-Robo, genre: adventure, housekeeping simulation, rpg. you're a pint-sized robot trying to help the human, animal, and toy inhabitants of a house that is constantly under attack by aliens. really cute with plenty of sidequests.
Wario World
Tales of Symphonia, genre: action rpg. the Tales series is p much a pinnacle of modern action rpgs. the story and visuals are meh, but it can support up to 4 players and there are 8 characters to choose from. it's a hugely long and replayable game on two discs with sidequests ranging from rewarding distractions to intensely involved boss battles.
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, genre: card-based rpg. a really cool card battle system balanced with weaknesses/strengths and time affecting your cards. visually interesting with a good story and cool, non-traditional methods to level up and gain gold.
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, genre: action, co-op. a great medieval 4 player brawler, the more people you have the more fun it is.
Kirby: Air Ride, genre: racing. surprisingly good racing game, though most of the multiplayer fun is in the City Ride mode. this is one i bust out everytime i have friends over.
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (possibly my favorite in the series as a whole)
Luigi's Mansion
Megaman Anniversary Collection, Megaman Network Transmission, and Megaman X Collection, all great if you enjoy megaman at all.
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, genre: stealth. the only significant MGS on a Nintendo system. the cutscenes aren't the most faithful adaptation of the story but you get vastly improved visuals and gameplay over the PS1 version.
P.N. 03, genre: tps, rail shooter. futuristic shooter, you speed through military complexes as a female mercenary in any of a few powered exoskeletons w/ different stats. fairly underrated/unnoticed game made by the people who went on to create Vanquish
Phantasy Star Online, genre: rpg/mmo
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, genre: side-scrolling beat-em-up/rpg. taking influence from films, it oozes visual style and movie references while having memorable characters/villains and enjoyable gameplay.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, genre: rpg. pick this one up and avoid Super Paper Mario
Beyond Good and Evil, genre: action rpg. dystopian explorer with fun photography-based side missions.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, genre: trpg. i actually prefer this one over the Wii Fire Emblem

buy a gamecube controller and softmod it. then you've got a decent emulating box.
