Well if you want to continue having a non-awkward relationship with her then you'd best approach this with a lot of caution, if she was indeed meaning it as some sort of joke and you ended up revealing you actually loved her she might get scared or something and not knowing what to do next as she probably doesn't feel the same way. I honestly don't know how to handle this stuff so well because sometimes like now you really can't know what her intentions are, maybe wait for a girl to post or something lol?

I know exactly how you feel, that sort of crap which girls do really confuses the the hell out of me, especially if I like the girl.
Depends on the context of the conversation though, what were you guys talking about and do you think she likes you/do you like her? What was her reaction to what you said?
I probably would've said the same thing but in that situation...
Some girls just say that for fun or to get a reaction, not typically being serious about it at all.
