Bootcamp Fat32 to Ntfs So, just now, I found out that FAT32 file systems can't hold files over 4 gigabytes, even though I remember having files that were over this amount. I'm thinking about converting the file system to NTFS, but the thing is, this is a Bootcamp partition and this computer is not mine (for the most part, I'm the only one using it). Naturally, I don't want to mess up the disk in any way or lose any files I may have and have to perform a clean install. I also don't want more viruses present on this computer, as I've heard that NTFS isn't as... secure. Would converting NTFS to FAT32 be safe for this computer? I'm using Windows XP SP3, in case anyone's curious. Thanks.
Dismounting a Drive to Change the File System So, I'm nearly at the stage where I can change my computer's file system to NTFS, however, when I tried to do so, cmd gave me a message saying that it had to dismount in order to convert. So I'm curious as to if this is a temporary dismount, and will mount itself back without the Windows XP Install Disk or anything else. Thanks.
Looking for a new computer So, I'm getting a new laptop this June, and I was looking at a few options, but I need help deciding which one. I've decided that I'm either getting: -Lenovo IdeaPad Y Series -Alienware M14X (slightly unlikely because of appearance and weight) -Macbook Pro (pretty unlikely because of price) I've decided on these, but if you have any recommendations of your own, I need something that has a good graphics card (preferably GeForce or something), and can handle most, if not all games. No, I'm not going to build a computer. If you're going to say I should build a computer, please press Alt + F4 immediately. Thank you.
