Has Maplestory been killed?

I don't often see regular gear-guides anymore asking questions such as: What gear do I upgrade next? My Zakum Helm or my 10att Work Glove?
Instead, all I'm seeing nowadays is: "Which is better, 23480923894att Cape or 3000000att Glove?" In my opinion, when people are asking which hacked/duped items they should upgrade next, isn't that saying something...? Oh and people actually give them serious feedback. What the hell? Is this what Maplestory is now?

Why do we worry about this. Clearly we have a good community, we just have some obstacles. Worrying about and paying attention to the people who do not play fairly is a waste of time.

What people don't understand is it's just a game, having good stats won't do anything to you in real life
And don't give me your bull crap saying that my stats are bad for saying this, it's the truth.
This. Thank you <3
Yeah, I'm proud of that because while you guys spend $1000+ to actually have a decent damage range, I just spend around $10-$20 and get the same thing.
Illegally. And I don't spent that much cash to get your type of cool items. I just merch.

This is getting way off topic. Obviously EngrishMan is a hacker and or 'Sheep' and thus feels superior to us all because he can exploit the system.

... So say a woman with a disability falls over, her moneys drops everywhere. You take her money just to show her that she shouldn't fall over in the street. Really, really solid logic.

If something is perfect, there is nothing left to do. and if you 'Perfect' your game then what fun would there be in playing it?. This is also another reason why people make threads on the old maple because back then you were godly if you got to level 30+. That feeling of pride cannot be found in maple nowadays because its just too fast now. but again this is our own fault (i.e, greed).
You're a horrible human being. So, when people make mistakes or are a little forgetful. You'd rather take advantage of it rather than help them?

But in all seriousness, why do you think people make threads about how they 'miss old Maple'?
Everything was a lot simpler back then. No one cares much about damage, as long as you helped out. The rich were more giving and kind to others, the poor were less stingy and did everything for fun, not money.
Now, conversations start out with, 'Whats your range,' and, 'What att *insert weapon here* do you have?' Anything not meeting up to the standards of 'hacked, duped, and godly' will be immediately scoffed at, and they will attempt to put you down into 'your place' and outdamage you with items that are not legitimate, unobtainable to some, and that break the true virtue of this game. TO HAVE FUN.
You make a good statement there. Its been awhile since I've played a PvP game or something like that, and the losing opponents said "Hey, that was a fun and nice game, gg". Now its all "MY GAWSH ARE U HACKING, U HAVE HIGH DMG AND BEAT ME ALOT SO I'M IMPLYING THAT ITS HACKING QQ". Being a Maple player that started in the early months of 2009, I can clearly say that it was more simple back then. When I started out playing on this Char, I added 15 AP to STR accidently... But what really was nice is that one anonymous Maple player did have some NX to spare and gifted me an AP reset. I was moved how this one person decided to go out of his way to help other people with rough times in the game (And yes I was able to eventually get all 15 STR back to INT). But the PQ's were also simplistic as well. The fact that you could play a good game and at the end, both sides agreed that they both had fun. At the end of the day, they never cared about damage, or if their WG's didn't have +999 Weapon Attack, they cared that they got what they are playing for. To have an enriching enjoyment in a game with other people who are having the same enjoyment.
@Acidstep: True. But what I'm talking about are the people who keep doing these idiotic actions. The dupers are the reasons why we keeping having these recent problems in MapleStory. Just think of a version of MapleStory, where not even one rollback exsisted. Not even one downtime issue. Where the game is actually STABLE, thanks to the community and their instincts to not messing everything up and cause chaos to players that play the game the way its supposed to.
Yeah I agree. But then again, its human nature to be greedy. There isn't a server where there aren't hacked items or hacking exploits.

One of the many reasons why I let go of this game. This game isn't worth wasting a single minute of your life. Majority say big bang ruined it but I think that was a good change for maple. IMO potentials broke the game. Quit and troll on basil =)
What do you mean killed like no one plays and it's dead or hackers and dupers have made the game horrible? I'd say neither to both, though it is annoying, getting hacked, but eh that's the way the cookie crumbles
Killed as in, it isn't as fun for legitimate players anymore. Usually the groups who do high end boss runs are all hackers and/or rely on hackers. Legit players around their level can't really compare at all. Its stupid.

So just because Nexon's security/hackshields aren't up to scratch means you have to go around acting elite in a virtual community?
