If you're not aware of how insane their sales laws are regarding alcohol: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_laws_of_Pennsylvania#For_consumption_off-premises
- Wine and liquor only available in wineries or state-owned stores
- Beer larger than a six-pack can only be sold by the case or keg (no half racks allowed)
- No alcohol sales in grocery stores or gas stations unless they have a restaurant area
- They tried allowing wine sales in kiosks at grocery stores but that was revoked
Why would people drink in the first place that is stupid
Because not everyone likes drinking warm milk and watch pokemon
In Nova Scotia it is this way as well. Liquor stores just have a moderately secure door connecting them to grocery stores usually.
It wasn't much different in New York 'til a few years ago. You could only get your non-beer alcoholic drinks at liquor stores, but now it's like most other states (Especially the south), where you can just go into your day-to-day grocery store and pick up a bottle of spirits.
I agree with all those laws. Makes it harder for kids to steal alcohol or anyone for that matter since those types of stores are easier to watch. However that commercial was one sided and laughable not to mention poorly acted.
Yeah, when I came to Philly for university, I thought that it was a little strange for stores to have liquor-selling licenses.
But it hardly matters because anyone with the will ends up finding a way.
Unless it's after like 10 PM.
