How are pallies on their magic defense?
Title. Since the formula nerf for defense (the one that also made the cap 9999), str doesn't add m. def anymore. . . so do we take like normal magic damage from monsters?

@Saltybandaid: I think I am going to go with Stance next (at least get it to a decent level), I dislike getting KB'ed, especially on platforms. Thank you for your help again
Stance vs Guardian is dependent on the player.
I personally prefer not getting knocked around as much over the elemental defence and status defence. Someone else might prefer the opposite.
But I admit it's fun to watch Guardian activate when Pap casts 1/1 in Dojo.
@Rann: Out of the two, max stance.
Achilles only adds more defense + lowers 1/1's affect.
We already have enough defense, and power-guard takes care of 1/1's.
With stance you won't be getting KBed as much, maximizing your DPM.
After Stance I'd max Guardian. Once you get used to rushing with that little blue shield knocking monsters around it shouldn't be too annoying.
It blocks attacks, but another attack can be delivered immediately after so it's not too great.
The only thing I find useful is that 32% abnormal status tolerance.
Guardian is the best skill to max next. I don't understand why so many people (including the guides) put Guardian off and max stance and other skills first. I do recommend putting some points into stance and getting it to a decent level so you can take advantage of CO, but Guardian is FAR more useful in my experience. When maxed it give 42% chance of "guard" which is basically the same thing as stance except you take no damage! 32% abnormal status tolerance <- awesome. And 32% attack attribute tolerance. Guardian just has so many applications. And max divine shield + max guardian + some stance is more than enough knock-back resistance.
Guardian can sometimes cause divine shield to be used up really fast because you can be hit right after guardian activates. Also it's hella annoying when rushing monsters, but I'll agree it's really useful otherwise.
@Saltybandaid: This is a bit off the topic, but what should I go with next, Achilles or Stance? I read a guide on pap last night, and I remembered someone saying that I should max ACB, Blast, HH, DS, and Stance by level 15x. If I want to go on boss runs such as zak, which is more helpful?
@Rann: Lol, grats.
Just incase you didn't know; Achilles further decreases the effects of 1/1.
@Saltybandaid: I just killed Pap for the first time tonight, and I noticed the reflection thing Instead of having 1/1, my HP stayed at around 50% while MP was down to 1. I am learning
@Rann: lmao.
It's alright; you learn from your mistakes right?
I used to think Magic crash worked that way; it doesn't... sadly. :C
@Saltybandaid: Ugh, I am still new and I don't know much about Paladins skills. One time I forgot that you need at least one point in one of the charges in order to use Charge Blow; another time is when I found out that HP Recovery is actually an active skill; and the times I used crash when Scar casts weapon cancel, thinking that crashing will cancel it...ahhh I feel ashamed of myself now, I am still a noob paladin
I am going to hide under my mushroom house now
@Rann: lol, what do you mean "Wrong again"? o-o
@Saltybandaid: Hmmm good question. I am going to do a PQ tonight and see o.o
I thought I was doing something wrong again
@Rann: As long as Powerguard is active, yes it's 100%.
Are you sure you weren't dispelled at the time?
Does the reflection work 100% of the time? I remember doing Kenta PQ the other day and Pianus was spamming 1/1, I don't remember seeing this "reflection" Or am I doing something wrong...again?
It works 100% of the time as long as you have the buff casted.
Hey! That crappy reflection works on all forms of attacks.
It also saves our asses from 1/1.

Power guard? The crap reflection damage it does due to our high defences? That power guard can block against magic attacks?

Shield Mastery triples magic defense.
Power Guard protects against magic attacks. This includes 1/1 attacks, meaning that Power Guard keeps you with plenty of HP after a 1/1 attack.
Not as great with mdef as we are with def, but still pretty awesome.
