Old Maplers Level Slower

Doesn't it seem that the maplers who started playing early on, when there were only four jobs, end up having a harder time leveling or getting their first level 120? I, for one, am an example of this: I started playing maple about one and a half years before pirates came out and didn't have a fourth job character until like a week before Big Bang. I have found from looking through threads on basil that there are many other players who started very early on in maple yet had a hard time getting their first 4th job character; taking at least a couple years for most. Is this because of the rapid alteration and metamorphosis of the methods which people use to level? Do us old maplers have a hard time adjusting to new playing and training styles unlike those who started playing within the midst of the constant evolution of maple? Is it that old maplers have less of a desire to level since it was so much more taxing and time consuming to do so when we first played? Please share your own thoughts and comments, whether you may be an old or new player, below.

Been here since 2005, got first 120 char 1 week after leafre and 4th job were released ( was 115 when leafre came and finally got out from duals to train at wyners ). Had some 4x - 8x chars too. Now i have just 2 4th job chars and bunch of 8x - 10x noobies. Before training was awesome, even when trained 35 lvl at duals gaining around 5% - 15% / h. Now it's just, boring.

I got to lvl120 before Big Bang.
I spent like 4 hours each day non stop when I was lvl100. Spending over 10k on 2x exp and asking people for 2x buffs.
During the 4 hours, i'd usually level 4~5 times at like 100, then 3~4 at 110, till about 2~3 at 115.

Some reason, i just find it much slower on my higher level characters. But for my new characters, it's faster O.o

'Us' older players have burnt out on grinding by now, maple simply loses appeal.

Been playing since early 2007 and Its just not in my playing style to grind for hours. I just like fooling around and just chillin' with friends.

It took me nearly a year.. to get to 120.. on this character, was very hard Pre-BB
Where as now, much much easier but just too many noobs on popular training spots.

I guess I am a slow lvler... I've played since 2005/2006 but then Maple stopped working and I just quit for a while, always wishing it would somehow work again. Not sure which year because I had the same teacher for both grades. But I know my first character had red eyes automatically. I've always preferred to complete quests and gain rewards. ^_^ But I only got up to lvl 30 and the constant freezing of Maple just ruined my motivation to get a second job since my str/dex/int/luk mage was too weak - lol.

I believe I came back late June 2010 with a new account as I forgot everything from my previous one and only got up to lvl 54 pre-big bang. So many imperfections; and I ruined the SP build too. Restarted that character after chaos patches and also preferred to do quests on all my other characters. I haven't been able to lvl a lot because of school and Maple takes up too much internet.
Thats because old maple players use to level from pqs and not much of grinding.

While I did PQ a lot, back in 2005 and onwards, I also spent countless hours grinding... 12% an hour in the late 50s and early 60s at Red Drakes / Hot Sands... down to as low as 8-10% near 70...
I was 137 pre-BB, after 5 years on and off, I've only gained 4 levels since. The game became pointless for me... I'm only back now to screw around a bit, and then I'll end up quitting for another few months, only to repeat the cycle again.

My levels no longer feel like they have meaning. Instead of grinding now, which would get me a level in an hour or two, I get most of my experience by traveling and killing random monsters... and it's STILL faster than pre-BB (yes, even with ulti-spam). Essentially, for me at least, I don't have a strong reason to want to gain levels.

I cant really say. I AM leveling faster, but I dont know why it FEELS slower.

I feel like I leveled my DrK from 130-157 faster (back then) than my CK now from 1-100.

Got my first 120 at Big Bang too. I think Maple just started attracting more people with actual money, not just the kids who grew up playing it and have an $8.50/hr wage. Those people with real amounts of cash jump in, getting what they want right away, and demolish.

Or, maybe it's something completely different
