I always bring another one of my high lvl chars when I'm making link mules...so that I can take care of the annoying elite bosses. It'd be one thing if they gave exp that was fitting relative to how long they take to kill vs normal mobs...but they don't, not even close...and they're just so deadly for noobs.

You haven't been playing the game for long then, which also probably explains how you died. They're called elite bosses. For most people, they're a source of profit/distraction from grinding. For newbies, they're lethal. There will be a approximately 5-10 seconds of warning+spawn time. Use that time to leave the map and change channel the next time you see one.

I honestly don't understand why elite bosses that spawn are usually pretty difficult to kill for those around the levels that it spawns for to kill.
