How is maplestory competitive
So, me and my friend got into an argument over maplestory's competitiveness
He's the type of gamer that plays DotA, Star Craft 2, battlefield 1 and 2, etc.
as you can tell, that game is of course, straight up PvP.
But I, however, believe maplestory's PvP isnt DIRECT PvP, but instead INDIRECT PvP.
You can strive to be the highest level, the richest player, or the most OPed person in the game.
To me, thats still going up against another player.
He keeps claiming, it still isnt PvP.
How can i argue against him?
BTW: he played the game, but he never gets anywhere.

The fact that we have a ranking system can imply that thier is competitive going on.
People smegaing thier godly equips is equivalent to one Gorrilla telling another Gorilla "I'm stronger than you so stay away from my women"
Videos of who has the fastest times in bossing.
Some people have leveling rivals.
Believe it or not KSing is competitive.
Guilds in themselves are competitve.
and on and on.

LMAOO. I've seen you in most of the threads I've read.
In terms of PVP as in PLayer vs Player, it isn't PVP until other players make a direct outcome against you. He probably doesn't understand that, but the game is COMPETITIVE, just not PVP (yet)
