I managed to haggle it down to $270 ^-^ im going to buy it and wait for black friday/christmas time to look for new parts for it (starting with the motherboard->ram->graphics)
Good. If your friend was trying to sell that pos for $500, then I would say he's no longer your friend.
Yea..you're definitely getting ripped off. I would suggest around $200~250 for it.
@AkatsukiLove: The computer you suggested above is definitely better. If you sell all the parts individually, it'll probably add up to around 500 or 550. So you're getting what you're paying for I guess.

Hmm, I see thanks for the response. Just trying to get a decent gaming computer for cheap haha :X
This person offered me : http://www.kijiji.ca/v-desktop-computers/cambridge/custom-made-gaming-pc/1022012607 for $225, I didnt know i3's could go up to 3GHZ o-o
I had an i3 2120 before I made the switch to my i5 4670k.
The i3 2120 is a very powerful processor for a budget gaming PC, it performs really well.

Well I got mine on amazon (or was it costco... forgot, but the both sell it) for like 570ish and it will run anything. Should be more than capable of running the high end games on it too, though not on highest settings of course. I mean I just played Bioshock infinite and TERA on it and it ran pretty damn well. The only downside is that it's not a REAL dual core, they didn't mention it anywhere but they just listed the doubled specs of it and "dual core" to market it better... wasn't too happy about that but it works pretty good.
H57 is a dam old chipset. The accepted contemporary are 87 to 97 boards.

Can you specify the number behind the i5? But I'm guessing its a 3rd generation from its clock rate.

6gb ram? Decent, but you can only upgrade to an 8 gb now since its separated into 2gb sticks and not 4gb sticks. What's the latency and speed?

650gb hard drive? Meh, its a hard drive. Make sure it has at least 7200 rpm

and LMAO, the SAPPHIRE HD 3D 5770 1 GB VIDEO CARD is so old that it's permanently out of stock.

600 W psu cooler master? I'd rather get a corsair.

Used prices
mobo - $20
processor - $150-180
ram - $45
HD - $30
GPU: ...I don't know $50? But it seems like more trouble than it's worth
psu: $35
optical drive: $8
Also he says that the computer is used less than 19 hours, he built it then realized he didnt have enough money for rent lol
Would this one be more worth my money?
