My computer wont display

Hey guys I can't seem to get my computer to display my monitor using the hdmi connection of my graphics card. Can anyone help? It doesn't seem to respond to me plugging in my computer at all. I have already verified that the monitor/cable are in working order. Thanks!

From experience, if your cable is not being auto-detected by the video card.
1) Reseat the video card by taking it out, cleaning the connections and making sure that it is connected right when placing it back in its slot.
2) Reseat the ram too, this parts usually resets everything to auto-detect correctly.

@AkatsukiLove Just to confirm what you're saying-

The computer and monitor USED to work together using the HDMI cable connection, but it just STOPPED working for some reason..?
This is not a new setup, but one that used to work OK..?

Did you make any changes on the computer..? Install any new software or work on the insides of the computer..?
Was there a power outage or storm..?

Try using another port on the video card. After that you can try removing the driver, reseating the card and installing drivers from the website for your graphics card. If this is a new GPU, make sure the previous drivers are uninstalled.

maybe the hdmi port on your pc and/or monitor is clogged with dust?

Not sure about the software but it worked before. I think it's a hardware issue. Everything turns on, fans/lights. The fans on the graphic card even turns on.
Im pretty sure i connected it to the graphics card, there's no other hdmi port. Also, i tested the wire with my ps3 and other computer and it works .. :x

Did you connect the HDMI cable to the I/O instead of the graphics card?
That might be why.

Edit: If that doesn't fix it, the cable might be defective. Buying another one won't hurt since they're dirt cheap.
