Internet Cafe in Kerning City

This is something I always wondered...
Do you guys remember that pc cafe place in Kerning City (it was above the thief hideout)?
I don't think it's there anymore, but I remember that it would never let me inside.
I have to know... WHAT WAS INSIDE?
And how were you supposed to get in?

Potentially a stupid question.. but thanks in advance
In Korea, there are places called "PC Bang"; which literally translates to PC Rooms, and you had to be playing in one of those rooms with a "registered" computer, to enter. Of course, when this game was taken from KMS' files and translated, the Internet Cafe was a mistake, as there are barely any (if not at all) Internet Cafe's in North America. Therefore, no GMS player could ever enter, excluding exploited means/hacking etc.

What was in there is an actual maple-like Internet Cafe, with many computers and such inside. There's was a Vending Machine NPC (similar resemblance to a Coca-cola dispenser) which sold basic pots, and an NPC named Billy, who would send you to alternate maps.

These alternate maps are actually the EXACT same as regular maps back then (Ex: Ant Tunnel 1), except for the fact that all the monsters gave 1.5x or 2x EXP of what they gave then. This is mainly due to the reason that you have to pay a certain amount hourly in PC Rooms, so this was Nexon Korea's plan to keep it balanced for those who could not play for long times at home (or had no internet access). Additionally, they dropped time limited equipment, which had much higher stats than the originals. For example, weapon A has 50 attack. When weapon A is found inside the Internet Cafe, it would have 55, or 60 attack.

Nowadays, these are completely useless, as first off, PC rooms are going extinct now that almost everyone has access to a computer somewhere/how, and there are events to make up for those exp boosting times. And not to mention, 5 more attack back then was a big deal. 5 attack now is just as bad as landing +5 ATT on one potential line.

Just seeing what's inside isn't fun though. All they would say is "I'm not coded yet.", unless you gave them other lines. What was the purpose of it, was the real question was it not?
Wow, thanks for that explanation. I've actually been to Korea before and been inside PC Bangs, but I didn't really make the connection. Crazy how this game has developed.

How do I even get into that Internet Cafe? I've always wondered about that but I just keep forgetting to ask.

I hear that you get to get some lv50 untradable weapons or something. Don't know, I kinda just remember these weapons I found on those maple wikia websites.
It was probably from internet cafes that had their own public desktop computers where people can use it?
