Have you ever ridden a bus?
Greyhound or public transit. Either one I guess.
I ride public transit mostly everywhere if I'm going somewhere alone.
I'm riding on a greyhound tomorrow, alone... I'm afraid I'm going to get machete'd like that one dude in canada.
Holy crap that story is so creepy...
So have you? If so tell me of your ~experience~ I'm curious as to what I should expect..

All the time. Public transport is safe here.
I've been on a greyhound once. Almost everyone on it was asleep, lol.
I've been riding in public buses forever, and I have seen a few "weird" people on it :x One time I was on the bus, and this old lady came on with a cart... she was walking to the back of the bus and kept hitting people on purpose with her cart, and when the bus started moving while she was sitting down she started hitting the window with an umbrella... so then the bus driver asked her to get off, but she refused so the bus driver got up and tried forcing her out, but then she started getting all violent... when she was finally out of the bus the old lady punched a random person walking by o_o
Also, I had a bus stop stalker throughout middle school.. this mexican man would always be waiting for me after school at the bus stop..... scary days ;_;
I'm in Brantford right now and I took the greyhound for the first time here. It's pretty easy and the drivers are nice. :>
I ride the bus in Montreal when I go. It's so convenient. But I love the metro more. My mom grew up there and it took her awhile to adjust to not taking public transportation or walking most places when she moved to US.
yea, public transport, its shady, and it sucks.
I've rode on Greyhound at least half a dozen times visiting Canada and going back home in Idaho, and never had any problems. =) Met a lot of...interesting people on the way there and back, and a lot of really nice people, too. I find the scariest places to be are the bus depots, and that's mostly because I am usually at one later in the night (such as the one in Seattle around 1 or 2 AM alone @_@). However, at worse, the bus drivers are typically very friendly and kind so if you can (and you're still worried), nab a seat up close.
Ah thank you for the advice!
Haha yeah my mom keeps telling me to pick a seat up front.
She told me she feels like a mother hen letting her chick out for the first time~
sort of weird but cute idk cool story I just told I know.
Buses overseas sound scary D; Here in New Zealand, buses are more then safe and most students use them on a daily basis.
I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm just a pessimist and sort of expect everything to go wrong..
I'm ~paranoid~
Ok yeah, that story was creepy as hell, but the only sickening thing is that people are suing Greyhound for having to witness the thing. What in the hell did Greyhound do to make this happen to you? Greedy bastards.
But my friend used to take Greyhounds to and from Ohio to Michigan all the time and she never had a problem with it. She said most of the time she'd sit next to no one or old women.
You guys are not painting a good picture of buses for me holy crap if I don't throw up, get stabbed, or be yelled at, this will have been a good trip..
And I am not scared of taking public busses. It's the long rides you have to be careful of. That's when the crazies come out, seriously.
@Aillya
Ugh that sucks :
My sister in law told me to get a window seat and glare at everyone while they're taking seats so no one will want to sit next to me LOL...
But I'm planning to listen to earphones and read most of the time.. It's a day trip, from l.a. to san fran which is like 9 hours :
I live in Detroit, there is no way in hell you would ever catch me on a public bus.
I've been on a nicer bus, one of those that you take on group trips, it was pretty damn nice.
I'm also curious, what story?
