Ok so, theres this girl at Sonic I like. And im gonna ask her out.

What kind of places would be good for a first date?

I was thinking something casual, like starbucks or something.

On a serious note, coffee dates are probably the best bet. It's casual, inexpensive and encourages social interaction.

Everyone on basil thinks they are better than the next person on basil. lol
Depends, what are your goals for the night?

Get to know her?
Ask her to be your girlfriend?
Get a kiss?
Go further than a kiss?

But the best place would probably be a movie so that you guys will have something to talk about after you spend two hours together in a dark room.
Getting to know her is probably most important at this point. If all goes well, maybe I'll ask her to be my gf. I wouldnt expect a kiss on a first date but you never know.

Just to add, Ive at least talked to her a few times. She likes geeks and I would consider myself a geek, thus why I want to ask her out.

@yomamma1134 If its awkward for you then it is because you are awkward. First date I usually end up making out with the girl in the movies... as do most other people! o.o

Movie is actually a bad place on a first date imo. It would be extremely awkward to sit next to someone you hardly even know for a couple of hours and then talk to each other after the movie is over like they didn't even feel awkward.

A first date shouldn't be too fancy or too cheap. This is because a first date is so you can get to know who exactly this girl is. She's already attractive to you, now its time to see if she's gf material. Going somewhere too fancy can be overwhelming for the girl and she might think your a try hard and may eventually just take advantage of you. It also may be a waste of money if you find out you don't like her.

I always prefer a movie for a first date. It usually works best for me.
