Req Laptop Experts - Gaming Laptop advice

Yup, another gaming laptop advice thread. My mom and dad are moving away soon, but I will have the opportunity to visit them maybe every 1-2 months or so. So I would like a mobile gaming rig to facilitate my video game addiction :-)

I already have a desktop for at home gaming. This is purely for travel gaming purposes.

Requirements:
->$750 or less budget
->NVidia Brand specific video card (idk why, but it seems most games are tested against nvidia and not much else :-/ )
->4 - 8 GB RAM (idk what ddr3 is :-/ )
->Windows 8 (tho i would prefer Windows 7)
->Avoid multicore systems. Ive had experiences where my games dont use all the cores, so I feel like its a waste of money.

Games I might play:
->Firefall (when it comes out)
->Guild Wars 2
->Starcraft II
->Diablo 3
->League of Legends
->Maplestory
->Minecraft
->Terraria
->MAV: Mobile Assault Vehicle (chromehounds fans... go google this)
->Different types of emulators.
->cant think of anything else atm. Sometimes i play random "indie" games though.
North Carolina, USA. I can order online but there is a time constraint, Id rather have it in-hand right away when I do have it then to wait for it to be shipped. I could do it i guess, i just want it before July 1st.
For a laptop in the USA to meet your requirements, it has to be shipped, unless you get lucky with a store that has Lenovo Y-series IdeaPad in its inventory.
Also, for the past 3 computers ive had thus far, including my current one, are all AMD cards. And they sorta "work". Usually I have issues with figuring out the right graphics settings to use. Which leads me to setting low settings for stuff when I should be ok with medium settings or something. So part of it is obviously that I dont know what Im talking about. To give you a specific example of my trobules, "TERA", for w/e reason only tested against Nvidia(or so Ive read) and my new $100 some AMD Radeon HD Sapphire stutters like crazy playing that game. It could be the video card, It could be the driver, It could be the game, i dont know. Im just sick of getting something and then having it "not work" for things you buy it for. /endrant
A "...new $100 some AMD Radeon HD Sapphire" doesn't mean anything to me. What's important for me to know is what GPU is on that video card, otherwise I'm inclined to assume your problem with TERA Online is part of normal operation. A time search also highly suggests the more recent Radeon drivers have resolved issues related to TERA Online so you should download that if you're not using that.

To generalize that most games are tested only on Nvidia hardware is far from the truth.
What country/state do you live in?Can you order online? If you cannot order online, what stores are around you?

All PC games are tested for to work on both Radeon and GeForce GPUs and as a result most games perform equally or almost equally on both. Of all the big PC game releases in 2013, many big titles were certified under the AMD Gaming Evolved program and just about none under Nvidia's "The Way its Meant to be Played" counterpart.
