Sadly, no. Only at HK.
I'm guessing China, like all asian parents , are like
"NO SOCIAL, STUDY ALWAYS. INTERNET NO GOOD FO YOU. PRON, FACEBOOK, TWITTER. EW. BLAH BLAH BLAH."
Hong Kong is seperate from China so they allow all that internet good stuff.
Google works at china but it's always in Strict safe search.

In HK, there's some free internet wifi OUTSIDE in the city!
http://hongkongextras.com/internet_access.html
Here's some information about this.
That website also has HK secrets and information that might be useful!

Edit; In Guangzhou, Facebook didn't work for me.. >.<

This is too true.
If you ever go to historical places in beijing the sidewalks are full of people with no arms and legs laying on the ground playing music. It's so sad.

This also reminds me that if you ever go to crowded places, watch your pocket. There are many skilled pickpocketers out there. Once they get it, it's gone. My friend almost got 2000 yen stolen but he had fast reflexes and grabbed it out of his hand.. o.o
god i can't live without facebook :C
oh and thanks, i guess ill place my wallet in my front pockets!

I'm a honky and i go Hong Kong almost every year <3 There's actually a lot to do in Hong Kong, so it really depends on how much time you're spending there and what you're interested in.

If you're a food person, there's actually tonnes of cheap food in Hong Kong! Off the top of my head, my favourite place would be Daikiya. It's a Japanese all you can eat restaurant and its relatively cheap. I'm pretty sure there's two branches, one in Kowloon and one in Hong Kong Island. Another place to go is Mr.Steak in Causway bay, the price might have gone up a bit by now, but it's also a relatively cheap place for all you can eat.

If you're a shopping person, there are plenty of places to go in Hong Kong. Apart from the big shopping centers (Megabox/Tsim Sha Tsui/Causway bay), there are also a lot of night markets. The most popular would be the Ladies' Market in Mong Kok. Before you get any ideas - no it's not just for ladies. Its just a place where lots of cheap/counterfeit stuff are sold.

If you're looking for entertainment, there are plenty of arcades in Hong Kong but some are 18+ so you might not be able to enter >.< If that's not your thing, Hong Kong has both Disneyland and Ocean park. Personally, i wouldn't recommend Disneyland as it is not as good as other Disneylands. Ocean Park is a pretty good place, there's an aquarium, plenty of rides and some performances.

As for girls, there are plenty in Hong Kong. In fact, I'm pretty sure that there are more women in Hong Kong than there are men.

I'm at Kaiping at the moment so sorry. I must say though, I am chinese and I admit that chinese people here are much worse than chinese people at USA. o.o The roads are messy and people just cross streets. The cars don't care and don't stop for you when you cross. They honk the horn then cuss at you in chinese. People are rude and the toilets are just a hole on the floor. Instagram works in some places in China and Hong Kong. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc only works at Hong Kong. In the bright side, everywhere I've been. Basil works.

P.S. There's alot of gorgeous ladies in HK. But some of them look really nice but totally ruin it by wearing crocs. Crocs are supposed to be some popular thing in China.
I am Cantonese the fastest and cheapest way for you to travel locally in HK is by the MTR station, acquire an Octopus card there and you can use it for practically anything

Hong Kong: Go to Victoria Peak at night for sure (take a bus up there it's pretty cheap), Shek O (if you're willing to make the drive) and Upper Lascar Road (Antique Street) are good for photography.. Central and Kowloon districts are obviously for shopping. Central has great food! Put yourself out there and be social with the locals, (mostly) everyone is friendly and very down to earth. also imo Oceanpark isn't that great. there is HK Disneyland though lol

Guangzhou: I haven't been there much but I did have a great time at Chimelong Zoo on their safari tour

isn't america more hot?
its just the humidity.
The humidity is what makes it feel like crap over there in the summer. It could be 85 degrees and you'll still feel hot, sweat, drip.

This is so d**m true. The weather sucks. You either sweat all the time or have to carry an umbrella because it's raining. I'm not sure if you're staying in a hotel but unless you're really fancy and you have elevators, you have to climb stairs to get to your house. (Houses at china are like apartments but bigger)

HongKong has Mega Box and a few other large malls.
Also, Mc.Donalds are literally around every goddamn corner.

Oh right, have fun dealing with the heat.

In hong Kong, try out Maxim. It's like McDonalds but with chinese food instead. It's a franchise so it will be anywhere?
lol.

No.

The people you see on the TV and internet are most likely an accurate portrayal of what you'll see in GuangZhou and HK.
are chinese people friendly to non-asians?
Only if you're buying something. Otherwise, no.

When you're in GuangZhou, be careful of what you eat. If you don't you'll be sorry.

i guess it depends where..
there will always some sort of awkward racial barrier between asians & non asians in asia.
