Maplestory is on the edge, think itll make its comeback?

The game is on the edge of a cliff and has loss a huge population of people since unleash including me, do you believe that this game will pick up on RED or will only pick up a little and continue to drop after the patch? I've only left after seeing nexon focusing on releasing classes, which are great and making money but there's no one making original adventurer class which bored me. But what do you guys think? I am very curious to know from the current people playing atm and if they're about to quit?

Well i hope they make a comeback, it's been a while since i played and i'd love to see more people in the game.

I saw more people log in last night than I saw log in for the past month. It's not dead. A lot of people are waiting for the RED update before they come back. If you've read threads on Basil for the past year and a half, that's all they've been waiting for.

@ProBlades: I think that's a sign that they're doing well. If you get a good response to a movie, you make a sequel. If you get a good response to a game, you make more games like it.

Nothing rly killed MS, they just failed to bring in new users as the Originals left, and all the new users they were getting they drove away with the aggressive P2W playstyle.

Now MS has let games like Tower Fortress and WoW get such a disgusting userbase lead on them, there is no hope for coming back.

Nexon killed MS, not any particular update, let's not get it twisted ppl.
People thinking it will make a comeback are too much of optimists. Maple is dying, why do you think they're making Maple 2?
they had the concept of ms2 for a while now. i heard of it like 1 -2 years ago i think.

anyways, people have been saying ms has been dying ever since BB. I don't think its gonna go anywhere.

Ah, well as I said we could say that but we can't deny that the population has held at 20k since unleashed. Anyways My hope is that it'll at lest go back up to a base population of 200k or so it's kinda empty, which is fine atm as it's hard enough to find RED mobs and things are being sold cheaper than normal.
The population has increased in the last few weeks. Went from 20k players on at a time to 27k on at a time, though one could say it's only due to the events the game hasn't really fallen under 20k on at a time since unleashed. Would be nice if I could find some way to see total number of active accounts for a better reading but I'd estimate that it would be around 50k-80k population since last week.
Nexon actually does that on purpose. If a person were to use Google Trends correctly and not search the word Maplestory but instead a maple-news reporting site like Orangemushroom, you will find that Nexon over the last 3 years purposely allows itself to be in a lull in September and October, perhaps because they don't think they can make money when kids go back to school or perhaps they are saving thier big guns for the holidays. Contrarily, at the start of November over the last three years, something major is usually announced on MS update sites. In November, MS 2 was announced in KMS and Dawnveil came out in GMS.

I wish for red to be success full, I want to play maple again but not what it is right now. If red does as good as a job as I hope it to be and address' issues from the
maple vote (as a side update to red) Then people will come back. If not red will just be another update that destroys maple.

I definitely think there will be a rise during R.E.D but also believe it will spike down after few weeks. There is no make it or break it with R.E.D it's just things will be "interesting" for awhile and back to the daily life. This is just all my opinion though
To some people it might, but based on imo i got bored of new classes and not nexon fixing up the game, and raising the lvl to 250? I wasn't at 200 yet, which didn't make me happy since i took my time to get up and to not reach the max, which was why i quit. I am not sure about others, but this is why i quit.
think that was sarcasm
but yes, it'll make a come back
