Balance in my Opinion

I've seen alot of threads complaining about balance in maplestory and I decided I wanted to share my view on it, instead of visiting all these threads an posting the same thing over and over.

1. Balance does not necessarily mean same amount of damage.
In my opinion if maple was only based on damage the game would be boring. What is the point of having different looking skills when everyone does the same amount of damage.

2. Nexon mentioned that they focus more on the long run than they do on the short run.
The only people who can see everything at once is nexon, you and I both should know that they have alot of jobs in creation, the only difference between us and them is that they know what the jobs are going to be like. My question is, wouldn't it be easier to balance maple according to everything you have currently and in creation to lighten the amount of work it takes to balance the entire game? To us it may look like inbalance at the moment, but it could be that we wont start to see this balance until more jobs enter the fray.

3. Balance to me, means uniqueness of classes and the different strengths they possess. (Strengths which play a part in being able to kill the monsters).
In all games I will never choose a warrior class, i simply dislike them, but I would trade up their strength for mages because I love their flashy magic moves. A guy messaged me and said whats the point of calling it balance if this job can out damage the other job so easily. I said it's cause the other job is not meant for strength.
Everyone said that dual blades are so beast now, and if many would choose between lets say a pally and a DB they would choose DB because of the damage. It's too bad though cause the defence comes into play for the pallys now as most DBs cannot survive in the party play area of future ereve (10k damage). This same 10k damage however is reduced to a mere 3k - 4k on pallys allowing them to be better than DBs, because to grow in maplestory is based on your ability to fight monsters for and gain experience for a long period of time, if you don't have defence and you die alot, damage does not matter, and if you dont have accuracy damage doesnt matter. It's all different strengths, look at that instead of damage.

4. Jobs are different based on their stats (potential, growth, difficulty etc)
I told him to compare an Evan (which apparently is a low tier job) and Corsair (high tier apparently based on DPS). I said the legends (in the character creation screen), have the highest potential, but the slowest growth, meaning that they take the longest to reach their full strength but he said then why is the corsair so much more better than the evan. I laughed to myself and said, babe, you are comparing the wrong things, 1st, when you are comparing a corsair and an evan, full growth for a corsair is 120+, full growth for an evan is 160+ (this goes with evans being slower to get to their full ability). 2nd, evans now can out mob most jobs, I might even go as far as saying all jobs because the range of their mobbing moves (flamewheel, earthquake) are incredibly huge 1, and 2, combine that with blink, and they can tear through a map much faster than a sair can. Also usually mobbers have a low attack level, but although evans dominate at killing mobs, their solo moves have heightened, 1 because they now have stance after 160, and 2 cause blaze is now split into 3 attacks (means that attack lost from reaching max is much easier to avoid).

Fun fact: I've seen many heroes at 160, with max intrepid slash and they do about 111k on each hit, I with lvl 1 blaze do about 40k each hit (at max 50% more damage will be added), this would equate to almost the same amount of damage bossing wise.

Just read the lines beside the numbers.

Anyways, I just presented my opinion on this, I won't put up a flame shield because there would be no reason to get angry with me as I am expressing what is in my mind, if I am ignorantly speaking then correct me.

No one would ever expect pallys, like I said earlier to be one of the best in that new 160 place, I certainly wasn't expecting it. Now people will actually think twice about damage, and think about maybe defense, there's a reason why nexon made defense, accuracy, etc on the scrolls so much more better.
