Choosing a video card

So I'm looking to buy an Alienware (Please don't make this an Alienware sucks thread since I have used one and it runs great and looks even better) and I was wondering if I should get a GTX 690 or Dual Radeon HD 7950s. Pros and cons? Thanks for your help!

This is newegg.com; their webstore is very organized.

Use the search bar for this:
NZXT Phantom
NZXT Phantom 410
NZXT Lexa S
Cooler Master Storm Trooper
Antec Nine Hundred

Doing the research on what parts to buy is going to take time, but it pays off in the end.
There are plenty of computer cases and lighting kits that you can have that will look just as good or even better than Alienware computers. You can also have a computer store assemble everything for you, but really if you got all the parts the max it should take to get everything done is about an hour. And those cards will allow you to play whatever you want maxed out.
Yes, but which one is better? And what case?
I want to play all the latest games at max or close to max graphic settings (skyrim, bf3, etc). I mostly want it for the looks though. I'm going to try to get the max specs I can on it, but I don't really mind if there is something better out there. I don't really have the time to build a comp and again the Alienware is too sexy to resist <3
You don't need either of those graphics cards to play at those games and the 'sexy-ness' of Ailenware is going to cost you whatever it's supposed to cost +60%.

Having 1 card is better than SLI. get the 690 over dual 7950's. are you even going for a eyefinity setup?

Straight-up, I don't recommend Alienware for these kinds of things. I'm going to tell you what most posters are going to post - assemble your own computer. You don't need to waste the money when it can be wisely spend on other things and assembling a computer is easier than assembling a table from IKEA. Even just saving $200 will allocate money for gaming peripherals such as a gaming keyboard, gaming mouse, gaming headset, etc.

What games you wish to play? And at what resolution will you be playing your games at?

An Alienware runs "great" not because it is an Alienware. It runs "great" due to the components inside of the computer, which can be used by any other branding. It would be a good idea to considered your other option before potentially blowing $2+ grand on something.
