Does anyone actually use Evil Eye Shock

... in proper training or bossing situations?

Just wondering if I should have this skill on my layout at all.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Not that it matters.

I only used it when I was traveling and I could 1HKO the mobs in the map, for fun.

I think all of Evil Eye Shock and Dominant are both useless...rather be used for Hex or Sacrifice.

I maxed it since I already knew I wasn't gonna use that On/Off attacking skill. I use it when I'm trying to cc in a map full of mobs and I don't want them to hit me; so it's useful for lazy people.

I also use it to hit mobs on multiple platforms when Dark Impale can't do the job, or if I jump+attack with bad timing.

@GunsTheSparkle: Yeah this is true. But the only time I ever got to actually use the skill was in Redleaf, so I killed the boss before I landed enough hits.

@iAmAurian: I figured that was the case, though I wanted to do more damage
Usually I can gungnir enough to run the counter down, so long as the boss doesn't have any 'hiding' frames.

@GunsTheSparkle: The thing is, when you use gungnir or DI, the game counts 1 skill use as 1 hit. When you use La Mancha, every hit counts towards the revive. I tested in in Redleaf, it's a lot faster.

@iAmAurian: That's a good idea...hmmmm. Personally, I'd rather user Gungnir, but you have a point. It does work pretty well for that, especially if you're trying to keep the boss long enough to get the counter down to zero.
@noobiest123: Dark Impale is still better. I love the skill to death, but it can't seriously compete with dark impale. .
Only time I use La Mancha is when trying to revive since it hits the fastest. But agreed, dark impale is way better for dps.

shock works kind of like beholder, beholder has to actually receive the command (which can take over a second) after that as soon as a monster enters range, he'll shoot it.

Evil Shock doesn't always seem to want to work for me. Leaving it up to the beholder to decide when to use it makes it unreliable to me.

There's a weird delay. The animation is just as weird. Let's just say it's off my keyboard and I want my roar back. </3
It's useless. La Mancha is pretty much the only attack you'll ever need to train on mobs (rush maybe). Ofc you'll use Gungnir to boss.

On a side note I find Dark Impale to be unnecessary for anyone to max before they max all of their 4th job buffs, passives, and gungnir
Dark Impale is over two times stronger than La Mancha Spear when maxed, just saying. And emphasis on the "over". La Mancha's damage is quite crap, contrary to what you said on that other thread. Hyper skills and faster attacking speed give it an even greater advantage over La Mancha (which has no hyper skills and is mostly unaffected by attacking speed).

I wish La Mancha was 4th job and Impale 3rd. sigh

Yeah tbh i only ever used roar to kill mobs that i could 1hko for sure and if they were on 2 different platforms, but the range on Evil Eye Shock is terrible.

It's just there for me. I really hate the range it has so I just find myself using the 170 hyper.

I saw a few vids and I gotta say....shock's range is worse compared to roar....but I'll still probably use it on mobs that I used to kill with roar.
