Arans vs Battle Mage?

I have been thinking are BattleMages a better version of Arans. My friend made me realize this. BaM are faster in my opinion they do not need combo, and powerful also. Arans also are powerful but lack of speed. Arans are considered the longest ranged character out of the melee category. Until BaM came out. BaM have a longer reach and ultimate is much easier to use than tempest, in my opinion.
I been thinking to restart with a BaM because I prefer the speed.

What do you think Basil? Do you find BaM improved versions of Arans or the opposite? Am I wrong? *Note this is all my opinion feel free to correct me.

Edit: BM to BaM changes made.

@Anu07: It's BaM, not BM. BM = Bow Master.

OT: To all those who think you button mash with a BaM in a way that is similar to an Aran, you don't. It was changed in the KMS test server and now BaM attacks strongly resemble Savage Blow. Therefore, the attacks are faster as the damage appears immediately, rather than awaiting the three strikes of the attack key. BaMs also have AYA which is a lot like SI, another reason they attack faster. On top of that, if you don't want to go with AYA, they have ADA which boosts damage by 40% (IIRC). Stack that with Potential +Total Damage %/Boss Damage % and you're looking at some pretty big numbers. They also have a greater amount of HP than Arans due to Conversion. BaMs also have Teleport and Tele-Mastery, both of which are easily manoeuvrable as opposed to CS which is a lot harder to control. Furthermore, BaMs have ADC which drags and stuns monsters; making them an easy target, as well as Tornado (need I say more?). It is my opinion that, in some aspects, yes, BaMs are better than Arans.

I don't understand how this escapes people:

ARANS DO NOT HAVE HIGHER HP THAN BATTLE MAGES (given that the mages use their double-HP buff). For crying out loud, watch some videos. There are level 131 Battle Mages with 10k+ HP when using that buff.

Even without the buff, they have higher HP than the weapon-based ranged classes (NL/BM/MM). Base HP at 13x is somewhere around 5k, based on video evidence.

Well, BMages are more party-friendly, for sure, but their damage dealing system is different and they have some qualities retained from magedom--that is, an ultimate and so forth.

I think the main difference between the two (for me) is that BMages have an ultra-HB buff (they need it since they get no normal form of Magic Guard) and BMages aren't hindered by super-weapon-defense buffs...they're hindered by super-MAGIC-defense buffs instead. Oh, and no combo system.

Plus INT is a hardcore stat, IMO.

I love how battlemages, since their attacks are similar, and being compared/ranked higher than arans.

Even though they have many similarities in moves, they are still a different class. Battlemages are still MAGES and are not (in my opinion) a melee class. From what I'm seeing in videos, the battlemage seems to be a combo of many different classes, not just the aran. Besides button mashing, I don't see how BaM and arans are similar. We will just have to see who is more dominant on the release of the BaM, just play what you prefer.
Faster. I meant teleport + attack.. I think BaM can cover more ground faster. Do you know what i mean?
Possibly but to me its just like this:
Aran: c-step, attack+ final charge, then finish mob
Btmg: teleport, attack/pull in monsters with that move idk the name of, finish the mob

kind of a generalization but not to big a difference in movement

Heck no! You did not just compare an Aran to a Battle Mage. f3
