Anyone like playing retro games?
Do you emulate, or buy physical hardware? Do you play on HDTV or an old tube tv like a CRT or a PVM?

My fave system is the super nintendo and collecting games for it is pretty fun.

I enjoy my hacked PSVita/PSPGO. Each and every retro game in the palm of my hand and they hardly take up any space on my memory card. These games look amazing on the original Vita's OLED display too.

My Wii has 3 emulators on it, NES, SNES and Genesis/MasterSystem/some other sega stuff. 87 SNES games, some NES games, some Genesis games. I play on a HDTV, aspect ratio has to be adjusted sometimes, don't like it when it's stretched and everything looks fat.
My PSP has a Game Boy/Game Boy Color emulator and another for Game Boy Advance. It felt better to play on something that's portable, the Wii remote sucks for GBA games. I have a component AV cable if I want to play on the TV anyways. About 10 PS1 games.
I think my favorite game of all time is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I bought the game 3 times, from the PS Store, Xbox Marketplace, and as an unlockable from Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles.
Also Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, an awesome soundtrack and probably the best duo of the kongs.

Retro gaming is pretty much the only gaming I usually engage in.
All of this ultra realism and obsession with graphics and certain game genres common in today's gaming generally repels me. =/
I'm mostly interested in Nintendo stuff, since I own all four of Nintendo's earlier home consoles (NES to Gamecube). I also own a few of Nintendo's handhelds, but most of my older handhelds don't work anymore.
I haven't played my NES, SNES, or N64 in years, but my Gamecube still sees action at least once a week.
I generally only deal in physical hardware nowadays, but in my earlier years I was more into the emulation scene to the point that my first (and still functioning) computer's hard drive is literally crammed with nothing but 8-Bit and 16-Bit ROMs from a wide range of systems & handhelds and the various emulators required to play them. I was actually involved in finding/distributing rarer (usually SFC) ROMs from my personal collection for people back then.

Currently in between SNES's. Never owned an NES, but played many friends. My friend has a NOS Sega 32X but no Genesis. I've been trying to buy it from him but he's more into trading.

I keep a softmodded wii plugged into my HDTV for general playing, romhacks, and playing with mates.

I have a mid-80s Zenith 19" tv set I've been sitting on. Looking to buy a top loader NES to set it up for in the bedroom gamin'.

My collection is mostly Gameboy paks right now.
