college hbu

living off campus, and my room mates suck.
I love my program (MRT) but I hate my online classes .-.
Books are expensive, cpr/whmis certificate is expensive, uniform + new shoes is expensive, making meals is time consuming.
Btw how can ya'll afford eating fastfood or buy coffee everyday.

I would like to enjoy other aspects of college like the free gym membership, sports, and events...
but really who has time for that

hbu?

Roommate is best friend from elementary school.
Books I either borrow from friends or use PDFs.
Majoring in Computer Science, so I'll probably spend manymany hours in office hours in the upcoming weeks. It's brutal.
The gym costs around $175 for the year - gym as in dumbbells and stuffs. Usually play basketball in my free time.
I'm living at the edge of campus - so I guess it's still considered on campus. Living off-campus next year for around $850 a month.
I'm actually looking forward to cooking next year. That is all I have to say :O
Oh, and hopefully I can bring my grades up.

Started 2nd year 2 weeks ago as an Exercise Science major.
Aiming for Graduate school as a P.T.
My program is fantastic and my teacher is an Ex-Olympic athlete.
The gym is free since i'm enrolled at the University.
Bonus is that my classes are inside the Recreation Center.
So i'm constantly surrounded by healthy-everything!
Also, I just commute to/from school because home cooking is <3.

I love everything about my college experience. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm in the place I've always imagined being, in the city I've dreamed of living in, and with friends I can't imagine being without.

The only thing that makes me sad is that I can't afford to go here for 4 years, so I have to graduate next year which makes me really sad, so I'm trying my best to become an RA for the next year and then maybe if I can possibly get it again, I'd be able to be here all four years and not rush this once in a lifetime experience!

P.S. As for coffee, I happen to work in a coffee shop so I get free drinks and pastries everyday. I don't even like the taste of coffee, but I get to make myself unlimited frapps so it's all gooooood.

Don't buy books. If you can't find them online you can usually either find a copy on reserve in the library or find someone who has it.

Making meals is time consuming unless you discover the magic of bulk cooking. Buy like 9 lb of chicken at wal mart for $20, wrap in foil and put them in the oven for like an hour and you have chicken for like a week and a half. Same can be done with potatoes and potatoes can be bought like $5 for 10 lb. Eggs are easy to cook and cheap. The only people I knew who lived off of fast food and starbucks were irresponsible with money and usually with their time too. I'll admit it might be a problem when you're living with a lot of other people though.

And you'll have more time on your hands the better you become at managing your time OP. By the end of my third year I was working part time and involved in research. Went to the gym six times a week about an hour and a half every day. I took steroids too so I needed to spend a lot more time worrying about what/how much I ate than normal people. It's a pain but you just have to take responsibility and be on top of things since the first day.

And yeah I went into engineering and was in dire thirst of white girls throughout the majority of it. You need to look into sororities or outside of school for females depending on your program.

[quote=ApplesAreOkay]...My program is 80% female. Its worst than nursing.. I didnt even know.

At least you got girls to look at. The program year that's ahead and behind me have at least have 2 girls (they are attractive or it could be the affect of being with guys every class), I got unlucky .

The only thing I really hate about college is all of the math and physics I need to take for my major. >.<
Math and physics is literally hell on Earth here. I have no idea why but it's genuinely miserable.
I also hate how I can never get into the freaking classes I need. And my major is one of the most structured majors on campus.
So if you can't get into a certain class you're screwed. I've had to put off taking this genetics class I need to take for two semesters now because I haven't been able to get in.
Now next semester if I don't get in for the third time, I actually won't be able to graduate on time. And you can't NOT graduate on time at my university.
Like you actually can't. You have to apply for a 9th semester and they only give it to those who have special cases.

live on campus, my roommates are ok.
my program is interesting but hard.
books are expensive. I borrow my friends' or I buy them used.
I don't buy fast food or coffee. I make a week's worth of dinner on Sunday, for breakfast I just have oatmeal. for lunch, a fruit.
rent is already hella expensive.
free gym but it's so boring to work out. and it's always crowded.
probably going to join 2 clubs this year but idk if I have time.
I want to get the best grades I can since this is my last term of uni, and I'm also working as a TA.
