How old is your cellphone?

So i've been noticing people who get new phones every year.
While im sitting here with my phone from 2010..
I still have my old iphone 4 from when it first came out when I was a freshman in highschool.. and I gotta say it still works fine.
How old is your phone?
What model is it?
Functionality?
How often do you renew your phone?

I have a cheapy no-name samsung phone that cost me 30 bucks new back in 2009. And that was only because I switched carriers and my old phone had a cracked screen and a battery that went from full charge to dead in under an hour. I just don't see the point in upgrading to a new phone. I only talk to 2 or 3 peopel with my phone on a regular basis, I don't frequent facebook, not big on chats or IM's so I wouldn't care about snapchat or any of that.

But everyone's always like "you should upgrade to a smartphone, it's so much better" Not replacing this bad boy until the battery can't hold a charge anymore lol.

Using the Nexus 5.
I usually get an upgrade every 1.5-2 years, no contracts for me

Got my first phone (Sprint S4) last summer so I've had my phone for a bit more than a year now. It does everything I need to do fine (using basic apps like email and docs, playing a few games). I plan on getting a new phone when my phone dies on me or when the future current generation of phones are just incredibly better than mine.

iPhone 5, 1.5 years old. Planning on using it until it literally breaks and becomes unusable.
I used the Motorola Razr from 2007 - 2011 and another sliding, non-smart phone from 2011 - 2013.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 since May so only about 5 months old. It is still very new and I will probably use it for another 2 years before switching.

I'm using the iPhone 5S. I got it in December 2013 so it's not even a year old yet. It functions pretty nicely, except I started to have WiFi issues ever since I installed iOS 8 Thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy S4 during my next renewal which will probably be in another 2 or 3 years.

I had a slide phone with a full keyboard from Oct 2010 to March 2014.
Then I finally got a LG G2 and it changed my life. Unfortunately, I don't have data because of stupid Cricket de-flashing it (basically). God I hate Cricket.
I bought the phone used, but it looked new, and it's probably almost a year old.

But all these companies must be sabotaging their phones or something cause why do all the newest flagship phones start to lag after just a few months?

I had a droid 4 from like 2012 (I loved it to death but the battery life sucked ) and so when my sister upgraded her phone this year she gave me her gs3...I would probably still be using my old phone if the battery didn't die like halfway through the day lol

I get a new phone whenever I can upgrade, so after a year and a half into my contract.
Every phone I have for a while starts to malfunction and the battery life just gets worse.

LF> iphone.

Old enough that it needs to be plugged into an electric socket to work.

Uh I have the iPhone 6 and I got it the day it came out so a month old?
It's perfect for my needs
Solid memory, camera, etc
I also play some iOS games
And link iMessage with my laptop to talk to my honey wherever I go

I tend to switch phones every two years

I've only had it for a couple years, but I believe the model is a few years older than that
